Sunan ad-Daraqutni 4560 — on pre-emption (shuf'ah)
نَا نَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى الْعَطَّارُ بِالْبَصْرَةِ ، نَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ حَبِيبِ بْنِ الشَّهِيدِ ، نَا يَحْيَى بْنُ الْيَمَانِ ، عَنِ الْمِنْهَالِ بْنِ خَلِيفَةَ ، عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ بْنِ أَرْطَأَةَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ خِلاسٍ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، " أَنَّهُ فَرَضَ لامْرَأَةٍ وَخَادِمِهَا اثْنَا عَشَرَ دِرْهَمًا ، لِلْمَرْأَةِ ثَمَانِيَةٌ ، وَلِلْخَادِمِ أَرْبَعَةٌ ، وَدِرْهَمَانِ مِنَ الثَّمَانِيَةِ لِلْقُطْنِ وَالْكَتَّانِ " .
It is narrated about Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that he made obligatory the payment of twelve dirhams (upon the husband). The woman will receive eight dirhams (from the husband as maintenance), and the servant will receive four dirhams. Out of the woman's eight dirhams, two dirhams will be for cotton and silk.
