Sunan ad-Daraqutni 4034 — Beginning of the Book of Divorce and Others
نَا نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ غَيْلانَ ، نَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الْجُنَيْدِ ، نَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ ، نَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أُمَيَّةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ جَالِسًا مَعَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ يَوْمًا ، فَأَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ ، فَقَالَ : يَا أَبَا عَبَّاسٍ ، " إِنِّي طَلَّقْتُ امْرَأَتِي ثَلاثًا ، فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ : " عَصَيْتَ رَبَّكَ وَحُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْكَ امْرَأَتُكَ ، وَلَمْ تَتَّقِ اللَّهَ فَيَجْعَلْ لَكَ مَخْرَجًا ، تُطَلِّقُ فَتَتَحَمَّقُ ، ثُمَّ تَقُولُ يَا أَبَا عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى يَأَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ إِذَا طَلَّقْتُمُ النِّسَاءَ فَطَلِّقُوهُنَّ لِعِدَّتِهِنَّ سورة الطلاق آية 1 ، فِي قَبْلِ عِدَّتِهِنَّ " ، قَالَ : وَنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أُمَيَّةَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي يَزِيدَ ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ فِي الْمَجْلِسِ مَعَ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَسَمِعَ مِنْهُ مَا حَدَّثَ بِهِ مُجَاهِدًا فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ .
Mujahid narrates: One day I was sitting with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them). A man came to him and said: O Abu Abbas! I have given my wife three divorces. Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) said: You have disobeyed your Lord and your wife has become unlawful for you. You do not fear Allah, otherwise He would have made a way out for you. You acted foolishly when giving divorce and now you say, O Abu Abbas. Allah Almighty has said: "O Prophet! When you divorce women, divorce them for their waiting period (i.e., at the beginning of their waiting period)." The same narration is also transmitted with another chain of narration.
