Sunan ad-Daraqutni 4026 — Beginning of the Book of Divorce and Others
نَا عَبْدُ الْبَاقِي بْنُ قَانِعٍ ، نَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مَرْوَانَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ، نَا أَبُو حَازِمٍ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْبَصْرِيُّ ، نَا هِشَامُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، نَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّ امْرَأَةَ ثَابِتِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ اخْتَلَعَتْ مِنْهُ ، " فَأَمَرَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ تَعْتَدَّ بِحَيْضَةٍ " ، .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The wife of Sayyiduna Thabit bin Qais (may Allah be pleased with him) took khul‘ from him, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed that woman to observe one menstrual period as her ‘iddah.
