Sunan ad-Daraqutni 2797 — Issues and Rulings of Buying and Selling
ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، نَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هَانِئٍ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ ، عَنْ فَضَالَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : " أُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِقِلادَةٍ فِيهَا ذَهَبٌ وَخَرَزٌ ، فَأَمَرَ بِالذَّهَبِ فَنُزِعَ وَحْدَهُ ، وَقَالَ : " الذَّهَبُ بِالذَّهَبِ ، وَزْنًا بِوَزْنٍ " .
Sayyiduna Fadala bin Ubaid (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A necklace was brought to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), which had gold and stones attached to it. So, by your order, the gold and stones were separated. Then you said: "Sell gold for gold in equal weight."
