Sunan ad-Daraqutni 2722 — on the virtue of Hajj and Umrah
ثنا ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَحْمُودٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ مَرْوَانَ ، نا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، نا وَرْقَاءُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " الْحَجَّ الأَكْبَرُ يَوْمُ النَّحْرِ ، وَالْحَجُّ الأَصْغَرُ الْعُمْرَةُ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) said: The major Hajj is on the Day of Sacrifice, and the minor Hajj is ‘Umrah.
