Sunan ad-Daraqutni 2080 — on zakat al-fitr
حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ بُهْلُولٍ ، ثنا جَدِّي ، ثنا سَالِمُ بْنُ نُوحٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ " أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَ مُنَادِيًا يُنَادِي فِي فِجَاجِ مَكَّةَ أَلا إِنَّ زَكَاةَ الْفِطْرِ وَاجِبَةٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَلَى كُلِّ ذَكَرٍ وَأُنْثَى حُرٍّ ، وَعَبْدٍ وَصَغِيرٍ وَكَبِيرٍ مُدَّانِ مِنْ قَمْحٍ ، أَوْ صَاعٌ مِمَّا سِوَاهُ مِنَ الطَّعَامِ " .
Amr bin Shu'aib narrates from his father, from his grandfather: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) sent a man to make an announcement, and he announced in the streets of Mecca: "Be aware that it is obligatory upon every Muslim—male and female, free and slave, young and old—to pay the charity of Fitr, which will be two mudd of wheat, and for all other types of grain, it will be one sa’."
