Sunan ad-Daraqutni 2067 — on zakat al-fitr
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدِ بْنُ صَاعِدٍ ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَتِيقٍ الْعَنْسِيُّ ، بِدِمَشْقَ ، ثنا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ، ثنا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْخَوْلانِيُّ ، ثنا سَيَّارُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الصَّدَفِيُّ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " زَكَاةُ الْفِطْرِ طُهْرَةٌ لِلصَّائِمِ مِنَ اللَّغْوِ وَالرَّفَثِ وَطُعْمَةٌ لِلْمَسَاكِينِ ، مَنْ أَدَّاهَا قَبْلَ الصَّلاةِ فَهِيَ زَكَاةٌ مَقْبُولَةٌ ، وَمَنْ أَدَّاهَا بَعْدَ الصَّلاةِ فَهِيَ صَدَقَةٌ مِنَ الصَّدَقَاتِ " . لَيْسَ فِيهِمْ مَجْرُوحٌ.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Zakat al-Fitr is a means of purification for the fasting person from idle and obscene talk, and it is food for the poor. Whoever gives it before the prayer, it is an accepted charity, and whoever gives it after the prayer, it is ordinary charity.” There is no weak narrator among the narrators of this narration.
