حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ، ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ فُضَيْلٍ ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ الْجَزَرِيِّ ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَعْقِلٍ ، عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ ، أَنَّ أَعْمَى أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنِّي أَسْمَعُ النِّدَاءَ وَلَعَلِّي لا أَجِدُ قَائِدًا ، قَالَ : " إِذَا سَمِعْتَ النِّدَاءَ فَأَجِبْ دَاعِيَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A blind man came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! I hear the call to prayer, but sometimes there is no one to bring me along." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you hear the call to prayer, then respond to the call of the one who invites to Allah (i.e., come to the mosque to perform the prayer in congregation)."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَسَدٍ الْهَرَوِىُّ حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ الْمُؤَدِّبُ حَدَّثَنَا سَلاَّمُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ وَاسِعٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- اجْعَلُوا أَئِمَّتَكُمْ خِيَارَكُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ وَفْدُكُمْ فِيمَا بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَ رَبِّكُمْ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ . هَذَا عِنْدِى هُوَ عُمَرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ قَاضِى الْمَدَائِنِ.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Appoint your best people as your imam, for they are representatives between you and your Lord."
