Sunan ad-Daraqutni 1694 — on the description of Qunoot and clarifying
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى ، قَالا : ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الرَّازِيُّ ، عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ جَالِسًا عِنْدَ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ : إِنَّمَا قَنَتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَهْرًا ، فَقَالَ : " مَا زَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْنُتُ فِي صَلاةِ الْغَدَاةِ حَتَّى فَارَقَ الدُّنْيَا " .
Rabi’ bin Anas narrates: Once I was sitting with Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), and it was said to him that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) recited the Qunoot supplication for a month. He replied: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) continued to recite the Qunoot supplication in the morning prayer until he departed from this world.
