Sunan ad-Darimi 687 — Prohibition of Facing the Qiblah When Defecating
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ، عَنْ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ بِنْ عَبْدِ الْقَيْسِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ مَوْلَى سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَهُ: "أَنْتَ رَسُولِي إِلَى أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ فَقُلْ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرَأُ عَلَيْكُمْ السَّلَامَ، وَيَأْمُرُكُمْ إِذَا خَرَجْتُمْ، فَلَا تَسْتَقْبِلُوا الْقِبْلَةَ، وَلَا تَسْتَدْبِرُوهَا".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Hunaif (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "You are my envoy and messenger to the people of Makkah, so say to them that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sends you greetings of peace and commands you that when you go out (to relieve yourselves), do not face towards the Qiblah nor turn your back to it."
