أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ، عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِابْنِهِ: "يَا بُنَيَّ، إِنَّ الْعِلْمَ خَيْرٌ مِنْ الْعَمَلِ".
Mutarrif bin Abdullah al-Shakhir said to his son: Son! Knowledge is better than action.
