أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ أَبَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَال: "مَنْهُومَانِ لَا يَشْبَعَانِ: طَالِبُ عِلْمٍ، وَطَالِبُ دُنْيَا".
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Two eager (greedy) persons are never satisfied: the seeker of knowledge and the seeker of the world.
