حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ: أَنَّ عَلِيًّا، وَابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَا فِي الْمَجُوسِ: "إِذَا أَسْلَمُوا، يَرِثُونَ مِنْ الْقَرَابَتَيْنِ جَمِيعًا".
Imam Sha’bi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Sayyiduna Ali and Sayyiduna Ibn Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with them both) said regarding the Magians that when they become Muslim, they will inherit from both sides of kinship.

The meaning of this narration is that if a Magian (Zoroastrian) marries his mother, sister, or daughter, then that woman will inherit from him in both capacities—as a wife and as a mother or sister.
