Sunan ad-Darimi 2954 — on Ali's opinion regarding the grandfather
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ: أَنَّ عَلِيًّا كَانَ "يُشَرِّكُ الْجَدَّ مَعَ الْإِخْوَةِ إِلَى السُّدُسِ.
It is narrated from Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) that Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) used to include the grandfather with the brothers and give him one-sixth (sudus) of the share.
