Sunan ad-Darimi 2060 — Saying Bismillah Over Food

Umm Kulthum narrated this aforementioned hadith from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her).

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadiths 2058 to 2060)

From this hadith as well, the importance of beginning to eat by saying "Bismillah" is established, which is a source of mercy and blessing. If one forgets to say it at the beginning, then whenever one remembers, one should say «بِسْمَ اللّٰهِ أَوَّلَهُ وَآخِرَهُ».
