It is narrated from Na’eem bin Hammar Al-Ghatafani that the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Allah, the Exalted, says: O son of Adam! Perform four rak‘ahs of prayer for Me at the beginning of the day, and I will suffice you till the end of the day.”

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 1489) These four rak‘ahs should be performed in sets of two rak‘ahs each, and this is the Ishraq prayer, which is offered at the beginning of the day when the sun has risen to the height of one or two spears.
