Silsilah as-Sahihah 2135 — Some accept Islam under compulsion, but
- " ألا تسألوني مما ضحكت؟ قلنا: يا رسول الله مما ضحكت؟ قال: رأيت ناسا من أمتي يساقون إلى الجنة في السلاسل، ما أكرهها (¬1) إليهم! قلنا: من هم؟ قال : قوم من العجم يسبيهم المهاجرون فيدخلونهم في الإسلام ".
Sayyiduna Abu Tufail (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled, and smiled greatly, then said: "Will you ask me about the reason for my smile?" We said: O Messenger of Allah! Why did you laugh? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I saw some people from my Ummah being taken towards Paradise in chains, and Paradise was extremely disliked by them!" We said: Who are those people? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "They are non-Arabs, whom the Muhajirun captured and brought into Islam as prisoners."
