Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah 2718 — Walking briskly around the Ka‘bah
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْفَزَارِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ . ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " رَمَلَ مِنَ الْحَجَرِ إِلَى الْحَجَرِ . زَادَ عَلِيٌّ : ثَلاثًا ، وَمَشَى أَرْبَعًا "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ramal (brisk walking) from the Black Stone to the Black Stone. In the narration of Janab Ali bin Khushram, there is this addition: "He performed ramal in three circuits and walked normally in four circuits."
