ضِدَّ قَوْلِ مَنْ زَعَمَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ يُهِلَّ حَتَّى أَتَى الْبَيْدَاءَ، وَهَذَا مِنَ الْجِنْسِ الَّذِي أَعْلَمْتُ فِي غَيْرِ مَوْضِعٍ فِي كُتُبِنَا، أَنَّ الْخَيْرَ الْوَاجِبِ قُبُولُهُ هُوَ خَيْرُ مَنْ يُخَيَّرُ بِسَمَاعِ الشَّيْءِ وَرُؤْيَتِهِ دُونَ مَنْ يُنْكِرُ الشَّيْءَ وَيَدْفَعُهُ
Against the statement of those who claimed that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did not enter into ihram until he reached Al-Bayda’, and this is of the same kind that I have indicated in other places in our books, that the good which is obligatory to accept is the good of the one who is given the choice by hearing something and seeing it, not the one who denies something and rejects it.
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الرَّمْلِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَمْرٍو الأَوْزَاعِيِّ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ جَابِرٍ : " أَنَّ إِهْلالَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ ذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ حِينَ اسْتَوَتْ بِهِ رَاحِلَتُهُ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the riding animal of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) became upright with him at Dhul-Hulaifah, he recited the Talbiyah.
