(139) بَابُ الزَّجْرِ عَنْ صَدَقَةِ الْمَرْءِ بِمَالِهِ كُلِّهِ،

أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ وَهْبٍ ، حَدَّثَهُمْ قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ تِيبَ عَلَيْهِ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنِّي أَنْخَلِعُ مِنْ مَالِي صَدَقَةً إِلَى اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَمْسِكْ بَعْضَ مَالِكَ ، فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَكَ " ، وَأَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ ، بِهَذَا مِثْلِهِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that when his repentance was accepted, he submitted to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "O Messenger of Allah, all my wealth is charity for Allah and His Messenger; I am giving it up." So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) instructed him: "Keep some of your wealth, that will be better for you."
