Chapters on Zakat of Silver
(41) بَابُ ذِكْرِ الدَّلِيلِ عَلَى أَنَّ الزَّكَاةَ غَيْرُ وَاجِبَةٍ عَلَى الْحُلِيِّ، إِذِ اسْمُ الْوَرِقِ فِي لُغَةِ الْعَرَبِ الَّذِينَ خُوطِبْنَا بِلُغَتِهِمْ لَا يَقَعُ – عِلْمِي- عَلَى الْحُلِيِّ الَّذِي هُوَ مَتَاعٌ مَلْبُوسٌ.

حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عِيَاضُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ يُونُسُ : " يَعْنِي لَيْسَ فِيمَا دُونَ خَمْسِ أَوَاقٍ مِنَ الْوَرِقِ صَدَقَةٌ ، وَلَيْسَ فِيمَا دُونَ خَمْسِ ذَوْدٍ مِنَ الإِبِلِ صَدَقَةٌ ، وَلَيْسَ فِيمَا دُونَ خَمْسَةِ أَوْسُقٍ مِنَ التَّمْرِ صَدَقَةٌ " ، قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ فِي كِتَابِ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ فِي عَقِبِ خَبَرِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي صَعْصَعَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : فِي خَبَرِ عِيَاضٍ مِثْلَهُ يَعْنِي مِثْلَ حَدِيثِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates from the Messenger (peace be upon him) that there is no zakat on silver less than five uqiyah, and there is no zakat on camels less than five, and there is no zakat on dates less than five wasq. "Abu Bakr Ibn Khuzaymah says this hadith is after the narration of Malik from Muhammad... from Abu Sa'id from the Prophet in the book of Ibn Wahb. The hadith of Iyad is also similar to the hadith of Abu Sa'id."
