Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah 2121 — I came to the service of the Messenger
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ فَيَّاضٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي عِيَاضٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الصَّوْمِ ، فَقَالَ : " صُمْ يَوْمًا مِنَ الشَّهْرِ ، وَلَكَ أَجْرُ مَا بَقِيَ "
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I came to the service of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked him about fasting. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Fast one day in every month and you will receive the reward for the remaining days."
