Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah 1929 — the Messenger of Allah
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَوَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لا يَغُرَّنَّكُمْ أَذَانُ بِلالٍ , وَلا هَذَا الْبَيَاضُ لِعَمُودِ الصُّبْحِ حَتَّى يَسْتَطِيرَ "
Sayyiduna Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not be deceived by Bilal’s (may Allah be pleased with him) call to prayer or the vertical whiteness of the dawn (and thus stop eating the pre-dawn meal); continue until the (true) light of dawn spreads horizontally."
