وَالدَّلِيلِ عَلَى أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّمَا نَهَى عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ إِذَا كَانَتِ الشَّمْسُ غَيْرَ مُرْتَفِعَةٍ، فَدَانَتْ لِلْغُرُوبِ
And the evidence for the fact that the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him) forbade performing voluntary prayers after ‘Asr until sunset is that this prohibition applies when the sun is not high and is near to setting.
نَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ ، وَمَحْمُودُ بْنُ خِدَاشٍ ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ هِلالٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ يَسَافٍ ، عَنْ وَهْبِ بْنِ الأَجْدَعِ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لا يُصَلَّى بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ إِلا أَنْ تَكُونَ الشَّمْسُ بَيْضَاءَ مُرْتَفِعَةً "
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No prayer should be offered after Asr except when the sun is white (bright) and high."
