Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah 1229 — The chapter on praying Duha upon returning
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الصَّوَّافُ ، نَا سَالِمُ بْنُ نُوحٍ الْعَطَّارُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " لَمْ يَكُنْ يُصَلِّي الضُّحَى إِلا أَنْ يَقْدَمَ مِنْ غَيْبَةٍ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform the Duha prayer only upon returning from a journey.
