«كان يقطع قراءته آية آية: {الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ} ثم يقف: {الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ} ثم يقف»
It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"He (peace and blessings be upon him) would recite verse by verse: 'All praise is for Allah, the Lord of the worlds,' then pause; then 'The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful,' then pause."
