«كان أكثر دعائه: يا مقلب القلوب ثبت قلبي على دينك» فقيل له في ذلك؟ قال: [إنه ليس آدمي إلا وقلبه بين إصبعين من أصابع الله فمن شاء أقام ومن شاء أزاغ]
It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"His (peace and blessings be upon him) most frequent supplication was: 'Ya Muqallib al-qulub, thabbit qalbi 'ala dinik' (O Turner of the hearts, keep my heart firm upon Your religion). He was asked about this, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'There is no human being except that his heart is between two of the fingers of Allah; whomever He wills He keeps firm, and whomever He wills He causes to deviate.'"
