«كان إذا قام من الليل ليصلي افتتح صلاته بركعتين خفيفتين»
It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) got up at night to pray, he would begin his prayer with two light rak'ahs."
