«كان إذا خاف قوما قال: اللهم إنا نجعلك في نحورهم ونعوذ بك من شرورهم»
It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) feared a people, he would say: O Allah, we place You before them (as a shield), and we seek refuge in You from their evil."
