«كان أحب الشهور إليه أن يصومه شعبان ثم يصله برمضان»
It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"What he (peace and blessings be upon him) loved most was to fast in the month of Sha'ban, and then to join it with Ramadan."
