«كلكم راع وكلم مسئول عن رعيته فالإمام راع وهو مسئول عن رعيته والرجل راع في أهله وهو مسئول عن رعيته والمرأة راعية في بيت زوجها وهي مسئولة عن رعيتها والخادم راع في مال سيده وهو مسئول عن رعيته والرجل راع في مال أبيه وهو مسئول عن رعيته فكلكم راع وكلكم مسئول عن رعيته»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Each of you is a guardian, and each of you will be asked about those in his charge. The ruler is a guardian and he will be asked about those in his charge; a man is the guardian of his family and he will be asked about those in his charge; a woman is the guardian of her husband's house and she will be asked about those in her charge; a servant is the guardian of his master's wealth and he will be asked about what is in his charge; and a man is the guardian of his father's wealth and he will be asked about what is in his charge. So each of you is a guardian, and each of you will be asked about those in his charge."
