" كل غلام رهينة بعقيقته يذبح عنه يوم سابعه، ويحلق رأسه ويسمى"
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Every child is held in pledge for his aqiqah; (an animal) should be slaughtered on his behalf on the seventh day, his head should be shaved and he should be given a name."
