«كل عمل ابن آدم يضاعف الحسنة بعشر أمثالها إلى سبعمائة ضعف إلى ما شاء الله قال الله عز وجل: إلا الصوم فإنه لي وأنا أجزي به يدع شهوته وطعامه من أجلي للصائم فرحتان فرحة عند فطره وفرحة عند لقاء ربه ولخلوف فمه أطيب عند الله من ريح المسك»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Every good deed of the son of Adam is multiplied from ten times up to seven hundred times, and even more, as much as Allah wills, except fasting. Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says: Fasting is for Me and I Myself will reward it; he (the fasting person) leaves his desire and his food for My sake. For the fasting person there are two joys: one when he breaks his fast and the other when he meets his Lord. And the smell of the fasting person's mouth is more pleasing to Allah than the fragrance of musk."
