«قدمت المدينة ولأهل المدينة يومان يلعبون فيهما في الجاهلية وإن الله تعالى قد أبدلكم بهما خيرا منهما يوم الفطر ويوم النحر»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"When I came to Madinah, the people of Madinah had two days on which they used to play during the time of Ignorance. (So I said:) Allah Almighty has given you in their place two days better than them: the day of Eid al-Fitr and the day of Eid al-Adha (sacrifice)."
