«قد سألت الله لآجال مضروبة وأيام معدودة وأرزاق مقسومة لا يعجل شيئا منها قبل حله ولا يؤخر منها شيئا بعد حله ولو كنت سألت الله أن يعيذك من عذاب في النار وعذاب في القبر كان خيرا لك وأفضل»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"You have asked Allah for something concerning appointed life spans, numbered days and apportioned provisions; none of them will come sooner than its time, nor will any of them be delayed beyond its time. Had you asked Allah to protect you from the punishment of the Fire and the punishment of the grave, that would have been better and more excellent for you."
