" فضل الله قريشا بسبع خصال لم يعطها أحد قبلهم ولا يعطاها أحد بعدهم: فضل الله قريشا أني منهم وأن النبوة فيهم وأن الحجابة فيهم وأن السقاية فيهم ونصرهم على الفيل وعبدوا الله عشر سنين لا يعبده غيرهم وأنزل الله فيهم سورة من القرآن لم يذكر فيها أحد غيرهم {لِإِيلافِ قُرَيْشٍ}
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Allah favoured Quraysh with seven qualities that were not given to anyone before them and will not be given to anyone after them: Allah favoured Quraysh in that I am from them; that prophethood is among them; that the custodianship of the Ka'bah (hijabah) is among them; that the provision of water to the pilgrims (siqayah) is among them; that He helped them against the people of the Elephant; that they worshipped Allah for ten years when no one besides them worshipped Him; and that Allah revealed about them a surah of the Qur'an in which no one besides them is mentioned: 'For the familiarity of Quraysh.'"
