«عذبت امرأة في هرة حبستها حتى ماتت جوعا فدخلت فيها النار قال الله: لا أنت أطعمتيها ولا سقيتيها حين حبستيها ولا أنت أرسلتيها فأكلت من خشاش الأرض»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"A woman was punished because of a cat which she kept confined until it died of hunger, and because of it she entered the Fire. Allah said: 'You neither fed it nor gave it drink when you confined it, nor did you set it free so that it could eat from the insects of the earth.'"
