«عجب ربنا من رجل غزا في سبيل الله فانهزم أصحابه فعلم ما عليه فرجع حتى أهريق دمه فيقول الله عز وجل لملائكته: انظروا إلى عبدي رجع رغبة فيما عندي وشفقة مما عندي حتى أهريق دمه»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Our Lord marvels at a man who fights in the path of Allah, then his companions flee, but knowing his duty he returns until his blood is shed. So Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says to His angels: 'Look at My servant! He returned out of longing for what is with Me and fear of what is with Me, until his blood was shed.'"
