Hadith 19
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّاءُ بْنُ إِسْحَاق . ح حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ زَكَرِيَّاءَ بْنِ إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ صَيْفِيٍّ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَعْبَدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَن النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، بَعَثَ مُعَاذًا إِلَى الْيَمَنِ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّكَ سَتَأْتِي قَوْمًا بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ وَكِيعٍ .
The above hadith has been mentioned with a different chain with a slightly different wording at the beginning, then follows the same.
Hadith 23
وحَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ يَعْنِيَانِ الْفَزَارِيَّ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " مَنْ قَالَ : لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ، وَكَفَرَ بِمَا يُعْبَدُ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ ، حَرُمَ مَالُهُ ، وَدَمُهُ ، وَحِسَابُهُ عَلَى اللَّهِ " .
It Is narrated on the authority of Abu Malik: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: He who professed that there is no god but Allah and made a denial of everything which the people worship beside Allah, his property and blood became inviolable, an their affairs rest with Allah.
Hadith 25
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ كَيْسَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِعَمِّهِ عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ : " قُلْ : لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ، أَشْهَدُ لَكَ بِهَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَأَبَى " ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ إِنَّكَ لا تَهْدِي مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ سورة القصص آية 56 الآيَةَ .
It is narrated on the authority of It is narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to his uncle at the time of his death: Make a profession of it that there is no god but Allah and I will bear testimony (of your being a Muslim) on the Day of Judgment. But he (Abu Talib) refused to do so. Then Allah revealed this verse: " Verily thou canst not guide to the right path whom thou lovest. And it is Allah Who guideth whom He will and He knoweth best who are the guided" (xxviii. 56).
Hadith 34
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْمَكِّيُّ وَبِشْرُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيُّ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْهَادِ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " ذَاقَ طَعْمَ الإِيمَانِ ، مَنْ رَضِيَ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا ، وَبِالإِسْلَامِ دِينًا ، وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولًا " .
It is narrated on the authority of 'Abbas bin 'Abdul-Muttalib that he heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying: He relished the flavor of faith (Iman) who became the book of faith pleased with Allah as Lord, with al-Islam as the code of life and with Muhammad as the Messenger (of Allah).
Hadith 43
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي عمر وَمحمد بن بشار جميعا ، عَنِ الثَّقَفِيِّ ، قَال ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " ثَلَاثٌ مَنْ كُنَّ فِيهِ وَجَدَ بِهِنَّ حَلَاوَةَ الإِيمَانِ ، مَنْ كَانَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ مِمَّا سِوَاهُمَا ، وَأَنْ يُحِبَّ الْمَرْءَ لَا يُحِبُّهُ إِلَّا لِلَّهِ ، وَأَنْ يَكْرَهَ أَنْ يَعُودَ فِي الْكُفْرِ بَعْدَ أَنْ أَنْقَذَهُ اللَّهُ مِنْهُ ، كَمَا يَكْرَهُ أَنْ يُقْذَفَ فِي النَّارِ " .
It is reported on the authority of Anas that the Prophet (ﷺ) of Allah (may peace and blessings be upon him) said: There are three qualities for which anyone who is characterised by them will relish the sweetness of faith: he to whom Allah and His Messenger are dearer than all else; he who loves a man for Allah's sake alone; and he who has as great an abhorrence of returning to unbelief after Allah has rescued him from it as he has of being cast into Hell.
Hadith 85
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْمَكِّيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ الْفَزَارِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَعْفُورٍ ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ الْعَيْزَارِ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَمْرٍو الشَّيْبَانِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ، " أَيُّ الأَعْمَالِ أَقْرَبُ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ ؟ قَالَ : الصَّلَاةُ عَلَى مَوَاقِيتِهَا ، قُلْتُ : وَمَاذَا يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : بِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ ، قُلْتُ : وَمَاذَا يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ " .
'Abdullah bin Mas'ud reported: I said: Messenger of Allah, which of the deeds (takes one) nearer to Paradise? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: Prayer at its proper time, I said: What next, Messenger of Allah? (ﷺ) He replied: Kindness to the parents. I said: What next? He replied: Jihad in the cause of Allah.
Hadith 138
وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْمَكِّيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ جَامِعِ بْنِ أَبِي رَاشِدٍ وَعَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَعْيَن سَمِعَا شَقِيقَ بْنَ سَلَمَةَ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " مَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى مَالِ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ بِغَيْرِ حَقِّهِ ، لَقِيَ اللَّهَ وَهُوَ عَلَيْهِ غَضْبَانُ " ، قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ : ثُمَّ قَرَأَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، مِصْدَاقَهُ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَشْتَرُونَ بِعَهْدِ اللَّهِ وَأَيْمَانِهِمْ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلا سورة آل عمران آية 77 إِلَى آخِرِ الآيَةِ .
Ibn Mas'ud says: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) observing: He who took an oath on the property of a Muslim without legitimate right would meet Allah and He would be angry, with him. Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) in support of his contention recited the verse:" Verily those who barter Allah's covenant and their oaths at a small price.
Hadith 144
وحَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ الْفَزَارِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَالِكٍ الأَشْجَعِيُّ ، عَنْ رِبْعِيٍّ ، قَالَ : لَمَّا قَدِمَ حُذَيْفَةُ مِنْ عِنْدِ عُمَرَ جَلَسَ فَحَدَّثَنَا ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَمْسِ ، لَمَّا جَلَسْتُ إِلَيْهِ سَأَلَ أَصْحَابَهُ : أَيُّكُمْ يَحْفَظُ قَوْلَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْفِتَنِ ؟ وَسَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ ، وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ تَفْسِيرَ أَبِي مَالِكٍ لِقَوْلِهِ : مُرْبَادًّا مُجَخِّيًا .
It is narrated on the authority of Rib'i (b. Hirash). When Hudhaifa came from 'Umar he sat down to narrate to us and said: Verily yesterday when I was sitting with the Commander of the believers he asked his companions: When amongst you retains in his memory the utterance of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) with regard to the turmoil? -and he cited the hadith like the hadith narrated on the authority of Abu Khalid, but he did not mention the exposition of his words (Murbaddan) and (Mujakhiyyan).
Hadith 145
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ َ جَمِيعًا ، عَنْ مَرْوَانَ الْفَزَارِيِّ ، قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّادٍ : حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ كَيْسَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " بَدَأَ الإِسْلَامُ غَرِيبًا ، وَسَيَعُودُ كَمَا بَدَأَ غَرِيبًا ، فَطُوبَى لِلْغُرَبَاءِ " .
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Islam initiated as something strange, and it would revert to its (old position) of being strange. so good tidings for the stranger.
Hadith 150
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : قَسَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَسْمًا ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَعْطِ فُلَانًا فَإِنَّهُ مُؤْمِنٌ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : أَوْ مُسْلِمٌ ، أَقُولُهَا ثَلَاثًا ، وَيُرَدِّدُهَا عَلَيَّ ثَلَاثًا ، أَوْ مُسْلِمٌ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " إِنِّي لَأُعْطِي الرَّجُلَ وَغَيْرُهُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْهُ ، مَخَافَةَ أَنْ يَكُبَّهُ اللَّهُ فِي النَّارِ " .
Sa'd narrated it on the authority of his father (Abi Waqqas) that he observed: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) distributed shares (of booty among his Companions). I said: Messenger of Allah! (ﷺ) Give it to so and so, for verily he is a believer. Upon this the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) remarked: Or a Muslim. I (the narrator) repeated it (the word" believer") thrice and he (the Holy Prophet) turned his back upon me (and substituted the word)" Muslim," and then observed: I bestow it (this share) to a man out of apprehension lest Allah should throw him prostrate into the fire (of Hell) whereas in fact the other man is dearer to me than he.
Hadith 154
وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ كُلُّهُمْ ، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ نَحْوَهُ .
This hadith has been narrated by another chain of transmitters like Abu Bakr (RA) bin Abi Shaiba, 'Abda bin Sulaiman Ibn Abi 'Umar Sufyan, 'Ubaidullah bin Mu'adh, Shu'bah; all of them heard it from Salih bin Salih.
Hadith 189
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الأَشْعَثِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ ، وَابْنِ أَبْجَرَ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ شُعْبَةَ رِوَايَةً إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُطَرِّفُ بْنُ طَرِيفٍ ، وَعَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، سمعا الشعبي يخبر ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُهُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَرْفَعُهُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : وحَدَّثَنِي بِشْرُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُطَرِّفٌ ، وَابْنُ أَبْجَرَ ، سمعا الشعبي ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ شُعْبَةَ يُخْبِرُ بِهِ النَّاسَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ ، قَالَ سُفْيَانُ : رَفَعَهُ أَحَدُهُمَا ، أُرَاهُ ابْنَ أَبْجَرَ ، قَالَ : " سَأَلَ مُوسَى رَبَّهُ : مَا أَدْنَى أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ مَنْزِلَةً ؟ قَالَ : هُوَ رَجُلٌ يَجِيءُ بَعْدَ مَا أُدْخِلَ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ الْجَنَّةَ ، فَيُقَالُ لَهُ : ادْخُلِ الْجَنَّةَ ، فَيَقُولُ : أَيْ رَبِّ كَيْفَ ؟ وَقَدْ نَزَلَ النَّاسُ مَنَازِلَهُمْ وَأَخَذُوا أَخَذَاتِهِمْ ، فَيُقَالُ لَهُ : أَتَرْضَى أَنْ يَكُونَ لَكَ مِثْلُ مُلْكِ مَلِكٍ مِنْ مُلُوكِ الدُّنْيَا ؟ فَيَقُولُ : رَضِيتُ رَبِّ ، فَيَقُولُ : لَكَ ذَلِكَ ، وَمِثْلُهُ ، وَمِثْلُهُ ، وَمِثْلُهُ ، وَمِثْلُهُ ، فَقَالَ : فِي الْخَامِسَةِ رَضِيتُ رَبِّ ، فَيَقُولُ : هَذَا لَكَ وَعَشَرَةُ أَمْثَالِهِ ، وَلَكَ مَا اشْتَهَتْ نَفْسُكَ وَلَذَّتْ عَيْنُكَ ، فَيَقُولُ : رَضِيتُ رَبِّ ، قَالَ : رَبِّ فَأَعْلَاهُمْ مَنْزِلَةً ، قَالَ : أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ أَرَدْتُ غَرَسْتُ كَرَامَتَهُمْ بِيَدِي وَخَتَمْتُ عَلَيْهَا ، فَلَمْ تَرَ عَيْنٌ ، وَلَمْ تَسْمَعْ أُذُنٌ ، وَلَمْ يَخْطُرْ عَلَى قَلْبِ بَشَرٍ ، قَالَ : وَمِصْدَاقُهُ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَلا تَعْلَمُ نَفْسٌ مَا أُخْفِيَ لَهُمْ مِنْ قُرَّةِ أَعْيُنٍ سورة السجدة آية 17 الآيَة " .
It is reported on the authority of al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Moses (ؑ) asked his Lord: Who amongst the inhabitants of Paradise is the lowest to rank? He (Allah) said: The person who would be admitted into Paradise last of all among those deserving of Paradise who are admitted to it. I would be said to him: Enter Paradise. He would gay: O my Lord! how (should I enter) while the people have settled in their apartments and taken the shares (portions)? It would be said to him: Would you be pleased if there be for you like the kingdom of a king amongst the kings of the world? He would say: I am pleased my Lord. He (Allah) would say: For you is that, and like that, and like that, and like that, and that. He would say at the fifth (point): I am well pleased. My Lord. He (Allah) would say: It is for you and, ten times like it, and for you is what your self desires and your eye enjoys. He would say: I am well pleased, my Lord. He ( Moses (ؑ)) said: (Which is) the highest of their (inhabitants of Paradise) ranks? He (Allah) said: They are those whom I choose. I establish their honour with My own hand and then set a seal over it (and they would be blessed with Bounties) which no eye has seen, no ear has heard and no human mind has perceived: and this is sub- stantiated by the Book of Allah, Exalted and Great:" So no soul knows what delight of the eye is hidden for them; a reward for what they did" (xxxii. 17).
Hadith 209
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ الْعَبَّاسَ ، يَقُولُ : قُلْتُ : " يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ أَبَا طَالِبٍ كَانَ يَحُوطُكَ وَيَنْصُرُكَ ، فَهَلْ نَفَعَهُ ذَلِكَ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، وَجَدْتُهُ فِي غَمَرَاتٍ مِنَ النَّارِ فَأَخْرَجْتُهُ إِلَى ضَحْضَاحٍ " .
It is reported on the authority of 'Abbas bin Abdul Muttalib that he said: Messenger of Allah, have you benefited Abu Talib in any way for he defended you and was fervent in your defence? The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Yes; he would be in the most shallow part of the Fire: and but for me he would have been in the lowest part of Hell.
Hadith 227
وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ . ح حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ جَمِيعًا ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ ، وَفِي حَدِيثِ أَبِي أُسَامَةَ : فَيُحْسِنُ وُضُوءَهُ ، ثُمَّ يُصَلِّي الْمَكْتُوبَةَ .
This hadith is also narrated on the authority with the same chain of transmitters and in the hadith of Abu Usama the words are: "He who performed the ablution well and then offered the obligatory prayer."
Hadith 247
حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ جَمِيعًا ، عَنْ مَرْوَانَ الْفَزَارِيِّ ، قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ الأَشْجَعِيِّ سَعْدِ بْنِ طَارِقٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ حَوْضِي أَبْعَدُ مِنْ أَيْلَةَ مِنْ عَدَنٍ ، لَهُوَ أَشَدُّ بَيَاضًا مِنَ الثَّلْجِ ، وَأَحْلَى مِنَ الْعَسَلِ بِاللَّبَنِ ، وَلَآنِيَتُهُ أَكْثَرُ مِنْ عَدَدِ النُّجُومِ ، وَإِنِّي لَأَصُدُّ النَّاسَ عَنْهُ ، كَمَا يَصُدُّ الرَّجُلُ إِبِلَ النَّاسِ عَنْ حَوْضِهِ ، قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَتَعْرِفُنَا يَوْمَئِذٍ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، لَكُمْ سِيمَا ، لَيْسَتْ لِأَحَدٍ مِنَ الأُمَمِ تَرِدُونَ عَلَيَّ غُرًّا مُحَجَّلِينَ مِنْ أَثَرِ الْوُضُوءِ " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported: Verily Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: My Cistern has its dimensions wider than the distance between Aila and Aden, and its water is whiter than ice and sweeter than the honey diluted with milk, and its cups are more numerous than the numbers of the stars. Verily I shall prevent the (faithless) people therefrom just as a man prevents the camels of the people from his fountain. They said: Messenger of Allah, will you recognise us on that day? He said: Yes, you will have distinctive marks which nobody among the peoples (except you) will have; you would come to me with blazing forehead and bright hands and feet on account of the traces of ablution.
Hadith 267
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الثَّقَفِيُّ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى أَنْ يَتَنَفَّسَ فِي الإِنَاءِ ، وَأَنْ يَمَسَّ ذَكَرَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ ، وَأَنْ يَسْتَطِيبَ بِيَمِينِهِ " .
Aba Qatada reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade (us) to breathe into the vessel, to touch the penis with the right hand and to wipe after relieving with right hand.
Hadith 272
وحَدَّثَنَاه إِسْحَاق بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ ، قَالَا : أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَاه مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا مِنْجَابُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ التَّمِيمِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ مُسْهِرٍ كُلُّهُمْ ، عَنْ الأَعْمَشِ ، فِي هَذَا الإِسْنَادِ ، بِمَعْنَى حَدِيثِ أَبِي مُعَاوِيَةَ ، غَيْرَ أَنَّ فِي حَدِيثِ عِيسَى ، وَسُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : فَكَانَ أَصْحَابُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يُعْجِبُهُمْ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ ، لِأَنَّ إِسْلَامَ جَرِيرٍ كَانَ بَعْدَ نُزُولِ الْمَائِدَةِ .
This hadith is narrated on the same authority from A'mash by another chain of transmitters like one transmitted by Abu Mu'awyia. The hadith reported by 'Isa and Sufyan has these words also: "This hadith surprised the friends of 'Abdullah" for Jarir had embraced Islam after the revelation of al-Ma'ida.
Hadith 313
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ جَمِيعًا ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ ، مِثْلَ مَعْنَاهُ وَزَادَ ، قَالَتْ : قُلْتُ : " فَضَحْتِ النِّسَاءَ " .
This hadith with the same sense (as narrated above) has been transmitted from Hisham bin 'Urwa with the same chain of narrators but with this addition that she (Umm Salamah) said: "You humiliated the women.
Hadith 330
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَإِسْحَاق بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، وَعَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ ، كُلُّهُمْ عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ ، قَالَ إِسْحَاق ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ مُوسَى ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ مَوْلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَتْ : قُلْتُ : " يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنِّي امْرَأَةٌ أَشُدُّ ضَفْرَ رَأْسِي ، فَأَنْقُضُهُ لِغُسْلِ الْجَنَابَةِ ؟ قَالَ : لَا ، إِنَّمَا يَكْفِيكِ أَنْ تَحْثِي عَلَى رَأْسِكِ ثَلَاثَ حَثَيَاتٍ ، ثُمَّ تُفِيضِينَ عَلَيْكِ الْمَاءَ فَتَطْهُرِينَ " ،
Umm Salamah reported: I said: Messenger of Allah, I am a woman who has closely plaited hair on my head; should I undo it for taking a bath, because of sexual intercourse? He (the Holy Prophet) said: No, it is enough for you to throw three handfuls of water on your head and then pour water over yourself, and you shall be purified.
Hadith 332
حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ النَّاقِدُ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ جَمِيعًا ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ ، قَالَ عَمْرٌو ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورِ ابْنِ صَفِيَّةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " سَأَلَتِ امْرَأَةٌ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، كَيْفَ تَغْتَسِلُ مِنَ حَيْضَتِهَا ؟ قَالَ : فَذَكَرَتْ أَنَّهُ عَلَّمَهَا كَيْفَ تَغْتَسِلُ ، ثُمَّ تَأْخُذُ فِرْصَةً مِنْ مِسْكٍ فَتَطَهَّرُ بِهَا ، قَالَتْ : كَيْفَ أَتَطَهَّرُ بِهَا ؟ قَالَ : تَطَهَّرِي بِهَا سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ ، وَاسْتَتَرَ " ، وَأَشَارَ لَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ بِيَدِهِ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ : وَاجْتَذَبْتُهَا إِلَيَّ ، وَعَرَفْتُ مَا أَرَادَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقُلْتُ : تَتَبَّعِي بِهَا أَثَرَ الدَّمِ ، وَقَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ فِي رِوَايَتِهِ : فَقُلْتُ : تَتَبَّعِي بِهَا آثَارَ الدَّمِ ،
'A'isha reported: A woman asked the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) how to wash herself after menstruation. She mentioned that he taught her how to take bath and then told her to take a piece of cotton with musk and purify herself. She said: How should I purify myself with that? He (the Holy Prophet) said: Praise be to Allah, purify yourself with it, and covered his face, Sufyan bin 'Uyaina gave a demonstration by covering his face (as the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) had done). 'A'isha reported: I dragged her to my side for I had understood what the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) intended and, therefore, said: Apply this cotton with musk to the trace of blood. Ibn 'Umar in his hadith (has mentioned the words of 'A'isha thus): Apply it to the marks of blood.
Hadith 363
وحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى ، وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَعَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ جَمِيعًا ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ ، قَالَ يَحْيَى ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " تُصُدِّقَ عَلَى مَوْلَاةٍ لِمَيْمُونَةَ بِشَاةٍ ، فَمَاتَتْ ، فَمَرَّ بِهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : هَلَّا أَخَذْتُمْ إِهَابَهَا ، فَدَبَغْتُمُوهُ ، فَانْتَفَعْتُمْ بِهِ ؟ فَقَالُوا : إِنَّهَا مَيْتَةٌ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّمَا حَرُمَ أَكْلُهَا " ، قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، فِي حَدِيثِهِمَا ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا .
The freed slave-girl of Maimuna was given a goat in charity but it died. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) happened to pass by that (carcass). Upon this he said: Why did you not take off its skin? You could put it to use, after tanning it. They (the Companions) said: It was dead. Upon, this he (the Messenger of Allah) (ﷺ) said: Only its eating is prohibited. Abu bakr and Ibn 'Umar (RA) in their narrations said: It is narrated from Maimuna (may Allah be pleased with her).
Hadith 363
وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ وَاللَّفْظُ لِابْنِ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الزُّهْرِيُّ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ : " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّ بِشَاةٍ مَطْرُوحَةٍ ، أُعْطِيَتْهَا مَوْلَاةٌ لِمَيْمُونَةَ مِنَ الصَّدَقَةِ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَلَّا أَخَذُوا إِهَابَهَا ، فَدَبَغُوهُ فَانْتَفَعُوا بِهِ ؟ " .
Ibn Abbas (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) happened to pass by a goat thrown (away) which had been in fact given to the freed slave-girl of Maimuna as charity. Upon this the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) (may peace he upon him) said: Why did they not get its skin? They had better tan it and make use of it.
Hadith 404
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ ، وَقَالَ فِي الْحَدِيثِ : فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، قَضَى عَلَى لِسَانِ نَبِيِّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ .
This hadith has been transmitted by Qatida with the same chain of transmitters (and the words are): "Allah, the Exalted and the Glorious, commanded it through the tongue of His Apostle (ﷺ) : Allah listens to him who praises Him."
Hadith 411
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنَّ ّرَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، رَكِبَ فَرَسًا ، فَصُرِعَ عَنْهُ ، فَجُحِشَ شِقُّهُ الأَيْمَنُ ، بِنَحْوِ حَدِيثِهِمْ ، وَفِيهِ إِذَا صَلَّى قَائِمًا ، فَصَلُّوا قِيَامًا ،
Anas reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) rode a horse and fell down from it and his right side was grazed, and the rest of the hadith is the same, and (these words) are found in it: "When he (the Imam) says prayer in an erect posture, you should also say it in an erect posture."
Hadith 432
وحَدَّثَنَاه إِسْحَاق ، أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، قَالَ : ح ، وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ خَشْرَمٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ يُونُسَ ، قَالَ : ح وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ نَحْوَهُ .
This hadith is narrated by Ibn Uyaina with the same chain of transmitters.
Hadith 466
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، وَوَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : ح وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي . ح وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ كُلُّهُمْ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيل ، فِي هَذَا الإِسْنَادِ ، بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ هُشَيْمٍ .
This hadith like one narrated by Hashalm has been narrated from Isma'il with the same chain of transmitters.
Hadith 496
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ جَمِيعًا ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ يَحْيَى ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الأَصَمِّ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الأَصَمِّ ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، إِذَا سَجَدَ ، لَوْ شَاءَتْ بَهْمَةٌ ، أَنْ تَمُرَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ لَمَرَّتْ " .
Maimuna reported: When the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) prostrated himself, if a lamb wanted to pass between his arms, it could pass.
Hadith 535
حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الأَحْوَصِ . ح ، قَالَ : وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، كِلَاهُمَا ، عَنْ أَبِي يَعْفُورٍ ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ ، إِلَى قَوْلِهِ : فَنُهِينَا عَنْهُ ، وَلَمْ يَذْكُر : مَا بَعْدَهُ .
This hadith has been narrated by Abu Ya'fur with the same chain of transmitters up to these words: We have been forbidden from it and no mention of that has been made what follows it.
Hadith 543
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ وَابْنِ عَجْلَانَ ، سَمِعَا عَامِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ الزُّرَقِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ الأَنْصَارِيِّ ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ " النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَؤُمُّ النَّاسَ ، وَأُمَامَةُ بِنْتُ أَبِي الْعَاصِ وَهِيَ ابْنَةُ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، عَلَى عَاتِقِهِ ، " فَإِذَا رَكَعَ ، وَضَعَهَا ، وَإِذَا رَفَعَ مِنَ السُّجُودِ ، أَعَادَهَا " .
Abu Qatadah (RA) al-Ansari reported: I saw the Apostle (ﷺ) leading the people in prayer with Umama, daughter of Abu'l-'As and Zainab, daughter of the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) , on his shoulder. When he bowed, he put her down, and when he got up after prostration, he lifted her again.
Hadith 572
حَدَّثَنَاه ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، بِإِسْنَادِ هَؤُلَاءِ ، وَقَالَ : فَلْيَتَحَرَّ الصَّوَابَ .
This hadith has been narrated by Mansur and he said: " He should aim at correctness."
Hadith 580
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمُعَاوِيِّ ، قَالَ : صَلَّيْتُ إِلَى جَنْبِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَ حَدِيثِ مَالِكٍ ، وَزَادَ ، قَالَ سُفْيَانُ : فَكَانَ يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا بِهِ ، عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ ، ثُمَّ حَدَّثَنِيهِ مُسْلِمٌ .
This hadith has been narrated by another chain of transmitters.
Hadith 583
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَعْبَدٍ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ يُخْبِرُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " مَا كُنَّا نَعْرِفُ انْقِضَاءَ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، إِلَّا بِالتَّكْبِيرِ " ، قَالَ عَمْرٌو : فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِأَبِي مَعْبَدٍ ، فَأَنْكَرَهُ ، وَقَالَ : لَمْ أُحَدِّثْكَ بِهَذَا ، قَالَ عَمْرٌو : وَقَدْ أَخْبَرَنِيهِ قَبْلَ ذَلِك .
Ibn 'Abbas reported: We knew the finishing of the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) through takbir. 'Amr (b. Dinar) said: I made a mention of it to Abu Mas'ud. hue he rejected it and said: I never narrated it to you. 'Amr said: He did narrate it before this.
Hadith 593
وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْمَكِّيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ أَبِي لُبَابَةَ وَعَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ ، سَمِعَا وَرَّادًا كَاتِبَ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ ، يَقُولُ : كَتَبَ مُعَاوِيَةُ إِلَى الْمُغِيرَةِ ، اكْتُبْ إِلَيَّ بِشَيْءٍ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : فَكَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ ، سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ إِذَا قَضَى الصَّلَاةَ : " لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ، وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ ، وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ ، وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ، اللَّهُمَّ لَا مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ ، وَلَا مُعْطِيَ لِمَا مَنَعْتَ ، وَلَا يَنْفَعُ ذَا الْجَدِّ مِنْكَ الْجَدُّ " .
Warrad, the scribe of Mughira bin Shu'bah, reported: Mu'awiyah wrote to Mughira: Write to me anything which you heard from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) . So he (Mughira) wrote to him (Mu'awiyah): I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) uttering (these words) at the completion of prayer: "There is no god but Allah. He is alone and there is no partner with Him. Sovereignty belongs to Him and to Him is praise due and He is Potent over everything. O Allah! no one can withhold what Thou givest, or give what Thou withholdest, and riches cannot avail a wealthy person with Thee."
Hadith 635
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ . ح ، قَالَ : وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ خِرَاشٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَاصِمٍ ، قَالَا جَمِيعًا حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ وَنَسَبَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ ، فَقَالَا ابْنُ أَبِي مُوسَى .
This hadith has been narrated by the same chain of transmitters by Hammam, and said about Abu Bakr (RA) that he was Ibn Abu Musa.
Hadith 644
وحَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، قَالَ زُهَيْرٌ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَبِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " لَا تَغْلِبَنَّكُمْ الأَعْرَابُ عَلَى اسْمِ صَلَاتِكُمْ ، أَلَا إِنَّهَا الْعِشَاءُ ، وَهُمْ يُعْتِمُونَ بِالإِبِلِ " .
'Abdullah bin 'Umar reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) as saying: Let the bedouin not gain upper hand over you in regard to the name of your prayer. See the night prayer should be called 'Isha' and the bedouins call it Atama (because) they milk their camels late.
Hadith 655
وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْمَكِّيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ هُوَ ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ أَبِي الشَّعْثَاءِ الْمُحَارِبِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ " وَرَأَى رَجُلًا ، يَجْتَازُ الْمَسْجِدَ ، خَارِجًا بَعْدَ الأَذَانِ ، فَقَالَ : " أَمَّا هَذَا ، فَقَدْ عَصَى أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
Abu Sha'tha' al-Muharibi reported on the authority of his father, who said: I heard it from Abu Hurairah (RA) that he saw a person getting out of the mosque after the call to prayer had been announced. Upon this he remarked: This man disobeyed Abu'l-Qasim (ﷺ) .
Hadith 649
وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ السَّخْتِيَانِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ الْمَلَائِكَةَ تُصَلِّي عَلَى أَحَدِكُمْ مَا دَامَ فِي مَجْلِسِهِ ، تَقُولُ : اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ ، اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمْهُ ، مَا لَمْ يُحْدِثْ وَأَحَدُكُمْ فِي صَلَاةٍ ، مَا كَانَتِ الصَّلَاةُ تَحْبِسُهُ " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: The angels invoke blessings on everyone among you so long as he is in a place of worship with these words: O Allah! pardon him, O Allah, have mercy upon him, (and they continue to do so) as long as the ablution (of the worshipper) is not broken, and one among you is in prayer and so long as he is detained for the prayer.
Hadith 663
وحَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الأَشْعَثِيُّ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ كِلَاهُمَا ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ . ح ، وحَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَزْهَرَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي كُلُّهُمْ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ نَحْوَهُ .
A hadith like this has been narrated by 'Asim with the same chain of transmitters.
Hadith 673
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ . ح ، وحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاق ، أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، وَأَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ . ح ، وحَدَّثَنَا الأَشَجُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ . ح ، وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، كُلُّهُمْ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ مِثْلَهُ .
A hadith like this has been narrated by A'mash by the same chain of transmitters
Hadith 674
وحَدَّثَنَاه ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي أَبُو قِلَابَةَ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ الْحُوَيْرِثِ أَبُو سُلَيْمَانَ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فِي نَاسٍ وَنَحْنُ شَبَبَةٌ مُتَقَارِبُونَ ، وَاقْتَصَّا جَمِيعًا الْحَدِيثَ ، بِنَحْوِ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ عُلَيَّةَ .
I came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) along with other persons and we were young men of nearly equal age, and the rest of the hadith was transmitted like the hadith narrated before.
