Hadith 339
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يُصَلِّي فِي بَيْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ مُشْتَمِلًا فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ " . قَالَ : وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , وَجَابِرٍ , وَسَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ , وَأَنَسٍ , وَعَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي أَسِيدٍ , وَعُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ , وَأَبِي سَعِيدٍ , وَكَيْسَانَ , وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، وَعَائِشَةَ ، وَأُمِّ هَانِئٍ وَعَمَّارِ بْنِ يَاسِرٍ , وَطَلْقِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ , وَعُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : حَدِيثُ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ ، وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَى هَذَا عِنْدَ أَكْثَرِ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَنْ بَعْدَهُمْ مِنَ التَّابِعِينَ ، وَغَيْرِهِمْ قَالُوا : لَا بَأْسَ بِالصَّلَاةِ فِي الثَّوْبِ الْوَاحِدِ ، وَقَدْ قَالَ بَعْضُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ : يُصَلِّي الرَّجُلُ فِي ثَوْبَيْنِ .
´Umar bin Abi Salamah narrated that he saw :` Allah's Messenger performing Salat in the house of Umm Salamah wrapped in one garment.
Hadith 1857
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ الْهَاشِمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعِنْدَهُ طَعَامٌ قَالَ : " ادْنُ يَا بُنَيَّ وَسَمِّ اللَّهَ وَكُلْ بِيَمِينِكَ وَكُلْ مِمَّا يَلِيكَ " ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَجْزَةَ السَّعْدِيِّ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ مُزَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ وَقَدِ اخْتَلَفَ أَصْحَابُ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ فِي رِوَايَةِ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ وَأَبُو وَجْزَةَ السَّعْدِيُّ اسْمُهُ يَزِيدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ .
It is narrated from ‘Umar bin Abi Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and food was placed before him. He (the Prophet) said: “Son! Come close, say ‘Bismillah’, and eat with your right hand from what is near to you.” © Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- This hadith is narrated from Hisham bin ‘Urwah through the chain of «عن أبي وجزة السعدي عن رجل من مزينة عن عمر ابن أبي سلمة», and there is a difference among the students of Hisham bin ‘Urwah regarding the narration of this hadith.

Hadith 3205
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيِّ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، رَبِيبِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنْكُمُ الرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيرًا سورة الأحزاب آية 33 فِي بَيْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، فَدَعَا فَاطِمَةَ ، وَحَسَنًا ، وَحُسَيْنًا فَجَلَّلَهُمْ بِكِسَاءٍ وَعَلِيٌّ خَلْفَ ظَهْرِهِ فَجَلَّلَهُ بِكِسَاءٍ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ هَؤُلَاءِ أَهْلُ بَيْتِي ، فَأَذْهِبْ عَنْهُمُ الرِّجْسَ وَطَهِّرْهُمْ تَطْهِيرًا " ، قَالَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ : وَأَنَا مَعَهُمْ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " أَنْتِ عَلَى مَكَانِكِ وَأَنْتِ عَلَى خَيْرٍ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ .
´Narrated 'Umar bin Abi Salamah - the step-son of the Prophet (ﷺ):` "When these Ayat were revealed to the Prophet (ﷺ): 'Allah only wishes to remove the Rijs from you, O members of the family, and to purify you with a thorough purification (33:33)' in the home of Umm Salamah, he called for Fatimah, Hasan, Husain, and wrapped him in the cloak, and 'Ali was behind him, so he wrapped him in the cloak, then he said: 'O Allah! These are the people of my house, so remove the Rijs from them, and purify them with a thorough purification.' So Umm Salamah said: 'And I, Prophet of Allah?' He said: 'You are in your place (meaning you are already a member of my household), and you are goodness.'"
Hadith 3511
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَاصِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا أَصَابَ أَحَدَكُمْ مُصِيبَةٌ فَلْيَقُلْ : إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ سورة البقرة آية 156 اللَّهُمَّ عِنْدَكَ احْتَسَبْتُ مُصِيبَتِي فَأْجُرْنِي فِيهَا وَأَبْدِلْنِي مِنْهَا خَيْرًا " ، فَلَمَّا احْتُضِرَ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَ : اللَّهُمَّ اخْلُفْ فِي أَهْلِي خَيْرًا مِنِّي ، فَلَمَّا قُبِضَ ، قَالَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ : إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ سورة البقرة آية 156 عِنْدَ اللَّهِ احْتَسَبْتُ مُصِيبَتِي فَأْجُرْنِي فِيهَا . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ ، وَرُوِيَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ مِنْ غَيْرِ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَأَبُو سَلَمَةَ اسْمُهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَسَدِ .
´Umar bin Abu Salamah narrated from his mother, Umm Salamah, that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “When a calamity strikes one of you, then let him say: ‘Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return. O Allah, I seek reward with You for my affliction, so reward me for it, and replace it for me with something better (Innā lillāhi wa innā ilaihi rāji`ūn, Allāhumma `indaka aḥtasibu muṣībatī fa’jurnī fīhā wa abdilnī minhā khair).’” When the time of death was near Abu Salamah, he said: ‘O Allah, replace me for my wife, with better than me.” So when he died, Umm Salamah said: “Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return. I seek reward with Allah for my affliction, so reward me for it.”
Hadith 3787
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ رَبِيبِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنْكُمُ الرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيرًا سورة الأحزاب آية 33 فِي بَيْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، فَدَعَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَاطِمَةَ , وَحَسَنًا , وَحُسَيْنًا فَجَلَّلَهُمْ بِكِسَاءٍ , وَعَلِيٌّ خَلْفَ ظَهْرِهِ فَجَلَّلَهُ بِكِسَاءٍ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ هَؤُلَاءِ أَهْلُ بَيْتِي فَأَذْهِبْ عَنْهُمُ الرِّجْسَ وَطَهِّرْهُمْ تَطْهِيرًا " ، قَالَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ : وَأَنَا مَعَهُمْ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " أَنْتِ عَلَى مَكَانِكِ وَأَنْتِ إِلَى خَيْرٍ " . قَالَ : وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، وَمَعْقِلِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، وَأَبِي الْحَمْرَاءِ ، وَأَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : وَهَذَا غَرِيبٌ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ .
