Hadith 44
وحَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ كِلَاهُمَا ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يُؤْمِنُ عَبْدٌ ، وَفِي حَدِيثِ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ : الرَّجُلُ ، حَتَّى أَكُونَ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ أَهْلِهِ وَمَالِهِ وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ " .
It is reported on the authority of Anas that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: No bondsman believes, and, in the hadith narrated by Abdul Warith, no person believes, till I am dearer to him than the members of his household, his wealth and the whole of mankind.
Hadith 61
وحَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ الْمُعَلِّمُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ يَحْيَي بْنِ يَعْمَرَ ، أَنَّ أَبَا الأَسْوَدِ حَدَّثَهُ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " لَيْسَ مِنْ رَجُلٍ ادَّعَى لِغَيْرِ أَبِيهِ وَهُوَ يَعْلَمُهُ ، إِلَّا كَفَرَ ، وَمَنِ ادَّعَى مَا لَيْسَ لَهُ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا ، وَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ ، وَمَنْ دَعَا رَجُلًا بِالْكُفْرِ ، أَوَ قَالَ : عَدُوَّ اللَّهِ ، وَلَيْسَ كَذَلِكَ ، إِلَّا حَارَ عَلَيْهِ " .
It is reported on the authority of Abu Dharr (RA) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) (may peace and blessings be upon him) saying: No person who claimed knowingly anyone else as his father besides (his own) committed nothing but infidelity, and he who made a claim of anything, which (in fact) did not belong to him, is not amongst us; he should make his abode in Fire, and he who labeled anyone with unbelief or called him the enemy of Allah, and he was in fact not so, it rebounded on him.
Hadith 94
حَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ خِرَاشٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي حُسَيْنٌ الْمُعَلِّمُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ ، أَنَّ يَحْيَى بْنَ يَعْمَرَ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ أَبَا الأَسْوَدِ الدِّيلِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ أَبَا ذَرٍّ حَدَّثَهُ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ نَائِمٌ ، عَلَيْهِ ثَوْبٌ أَبْيَضُ ، ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُهُ فَإِذَا هُوَ نَائِمٌ ، ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُهُ وَقَدِ اسْتَيْقَظَ ، فَجَلَسْتُ إِلَيْهِ ، فَقَالَ : " مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ ، قَالَ : لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ، ثُمَّ مَاتَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ ، إِلَّا دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ " ، قُلْتُ : " وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ ، قَالَ : وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ ، قُلْتُ : وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ ، قَالَ : وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ ثَلَاثًا ، ثُمَّ قَالَ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ : عَلَى رَغْمِ أَنْفِ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ : فَخَرَجَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ : وَإِنْ رَغِمَ أَنْفُ أَبِي ذَرٍّ " .
Abu Dharr (RA) reported,: I came to the Apostle (ﷺ) and he was asleep with a white mantle over him. I again came, he was still asleep, I came again and he had awakened. I sat by his side and (the Holy Prophet) observed: There is none among the bondsmen who affirmed his faith in La illaha ill-Allah there is no God but Allah) and died in this state and did not enter Paradise. I (Abu Dharr) said: Even if he committed adultery and theft? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: (Yes) even though he committed adultery and theft. I (again said): Even if he committed adultery and theft? He replied: (Yes) even though he committed adultery and theft. (Th Holy Prophet (ﷺ) repeated it three times) and said for the fourth time: In defiance of Abu Dharr. Abu Dharr (RA) then went out and he repeated (these words): In defiance of Abu Dharr.
Hadith 131
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، عَنِ الْجَعْدِ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو رَجَاءٍ الْعُطَارِدِيُّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فِيمَا يَرْوِي عَنْ رَبِّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ ، كَتَبَ الْحَسَنَاتِ وَالسَّيِّئَاتِ ، ثُمَّ بَيَّنَ ذَلِكَ ، فَمَنْ هَمَّ بِحَسَنَةٍ فَلَمْ يَعْمَلْهَا ، كَتَبَهَا اللَّهُ عِنْدَهُ حَسَنَةً كَامِلَةً ، وَإِنْ هَمَّ بِهَا فَعَمِلَهَا كَتَبَهَا اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عِنْدَهُ عَشْرَ حَسَنَاتٍ إِلَى سَبْعِمِائةِ ضِعْفٍ إِلَى أَضْعَافٍ كَثِيرَةٍ ، وَإِنْ هَمَّ بِسَيِّئَةٍ فَلَمْ يَعْمَلْهَا ، كَتَبَهَا اللَّهُ عِنْدَهُ حَسَنَةً كَامِلَةً ، وَإِنْ هَمَّ بِهَا ، فَعَمِلَهَا كَتَبَهَا اللَّهُ سَيِّئَةً وَاحِدَةً " .
It is narrated on the authority of Ibn Abbas (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) transmitted it from the Blessed and Great Lord: Verily Allah recorded the good and the evil and then made it clear that he who intended good but did not do it, Allah recorded one complete good in his favour, but if he intended it and also did it, the Glorious and Great Allah recorded ten to seven hundred virtues and even more to his credit. But it he intended evil, but did not commit it, Allah wrote down full one good in his favour. If he intended that and also committed it, Allah made an entry of one evil against him.
Hadith 135
حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ جَدِّي ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَا يَزَالُ النَّاسُ يَسْأَلُونَكُمْ عَنِ الْعِلْمِ ، حَتَّى يَقُولُوا : هَذَا اللَّهُ خَلَقَنَا ، فَمَنْ خَلَقَ اللَّهَ ؟ " ، قَالَ : وَهُوَ آخِذٌ بِيَدِ رَجُلٍ ، فَقَالَ : صَدَقَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ ، قَدْ سَأَلَنِي اثْنَانِ وَهَذَا الثَّالِثُ ، أَوَ قَالَ : سَأَلَنِي وَاحِدٌ وَهَذَا الثَّانِي .
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) observed:People will constantly ask you questions pertaining to knowledge till they would say: Allah created us, but who created Allah? he (the narrator) says: he (Abu Huraira) was (at the time of narrating this hadith) catching hold of the hand of a man and he said: Allah and the Messenger told the truth. Two persons have already put me this question, and this is the third one, or he said: One man has put me this question and he is the second one.
Hadith 347
وحَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حميد ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ جَدِّي ، عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ ذَكْوَانَ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، أَنَّ عَطَاءَ بْنَ يَسَارٍ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّ زَيْدَ بْنَ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيَّ أَخْبَرَهُ ، " أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : أَرَأَيْتَ إِذَا جَامَعَ الرَّجُلُ امْرَأَتَهُ ، وَلَمْ يُمْنِ ؟ قَالَ عُثْمَانُ : " يَتَوَضَّأُ كَمَا يَتَوَضَّأُ لِلصَّلَاةِ وَيَغْسِلُ ذَكَرَهُ " ، قَالَ عُثْمَانُ : سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
Zaid bin Khalid al-Jubani reported that he askad 'Uthman bin 'Affan: What is your opinion about the man who has sexual intercourse with his wife, but does not experience orgasm? 'Uthman said: He should perform ablution as he does for prayer, and wash his organ. 'Uthmin also said: I have heard it from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) .
Hadith 347
وحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ جَدِّي ، عَنْ الْحُسَيْنِ ، قَالَ يَحْيَى : وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، أَنَّ عُرْوَةَ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّ أَبَا أَيُّوبَ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ذَلِكَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
Abu Ayyub reported that he had heard like this from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) .
Hadith 376
حَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ كِلَاهُمَا ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : " أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ ، وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، نَجِيٌّ لِرَجُلٍ ، وَفِي حَدِيثِ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ : وَنَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يُنَاجِي الرَّجُلَ ، فَمَا قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ ، حَتَّى نَامَ الْقَوْمُ " .
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported: (The people) stood up for prayer and the Anas reported: (The people) stood up for prayer and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was whispering to a man, and in the narration of 'Abdul Warith (the words are): The Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) was having a private conversation with a man, and did not start the prayer till the people dozed off.
Hadith 378
وحَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، وَعَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : " أُمِرَ بِلَالٌ ، أَنْ يَشْفَعَ الأَذَانَ ، وَيُوتِرَ الإِقَامَةَ " .
Anas reported: Bilal (RA) was commanded (by the Holy Prophet) to repeat the phrases twice in Adhan, and once in lqama.
Hadith 419
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، وَهَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : " لَمْ يَخْرُجْ إِلَيْنَا نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثَلَاثًا ، فَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ ، فَذَهَبَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ يَتَقَدَّمُ ، فَقَالَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : بِالْحِجَابِ ، فَرَفَعَهُ فَلَمَّا ، وَضَحَ لَنَا وَجْهُ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، مَا نَظَرْنَا مَنْظَرًا قَطُّ ، كَانَ أَعْجَبَ إِلَيْنَا مِنْ وَجْهِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، حِينَ وَضَحَ لَنَا ، قَالَ : فَأَوْمَأَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، أَنْ يَتَقَدَّمَ ، وَأَرْخَى نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْحِجَابَ ، فَلَمْ نَقْدِرْ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّى مَاتَ " .
Anas reported: The Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) did not come to us for three days. When the prayer was about to start. Abu Bakr (RA) stepped forward (to lead the prayer), and the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) lifted the curtain. When the face of the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) became visible to us, we (found) that no sight was more endearing to us than the face of the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) as it appeared to us. The Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) with the gesture of his hand directed Abu Bakr (RA) to step forward (and lead the prayer). The Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) then drew the curtain, and we could not see him till he died.
Hadith 434
حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ صُهَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَتِمُّوا الصُّفُوفَ ، فَإِنِّي أَرَاكُمْ خَلْفَ ظَهْرِي " .
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Complete the rows, for I can see you behind my back.
Hadith 524
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى ، وَشَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ كلاهما ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ ، قَالَ يَحْيَى : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي التَّيَّاحِ الضُّبَعِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ، " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَدِمَ الْمَدِينَةَ ، فَنَزَلَ فِي عُلْ وَالْمَدِينَةِ ، فِي حَيٍّ ، يُقَالُ لَهُمْ : بَنُو عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْفٍ ، فَأَقَامَ فِيهِمْ أَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ لَيْلَةً ، ثُمَّ إِنَّهُ أَرْسَلَ إِلَى مَلَإِ بَنِي النَّجَّارِ ، فَجَاءُوا مُتَقَلِّدِينَ بِسُيُوفِهِمْ ، قَالَ : فَكَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ ، وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ ، رِدْفُهُ وَمَلَأُ بَنِي النَّجَّارِ حَوْلَهُ ، حَتَّى أَلْقَى بِفِنَاءِ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ، قَالَ : فَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يُصَلِّي حَيْثُ أَدْرَكَتْهُ الصَّلَاةُ ، وَيُصَلِّي فِي مَرَابِضِ الْغَنَمِ ، ثُمَّ إِنَّهُ أَمَرَ بِالْمَسْجِدِ ، قَالَ : فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى مَلَإِ بَنِي النَّجَّارِ ، فَجَاءُوا ، فَقَالَ : يَا بَنِي النَّجَّارِ ، ثَامِنُونِي بِحَائِطِكُمْ هَذَا ؟ قَالُوا : لَا وَاللَّهِ ، لَا نَطْلُبُ ثَمَنَهُ إِلَّا إِلَى اللَّهِ ، قَالَ أَنَسٌ : فَكَانَ فِيهِ مَا أَقُولُ ، كَانَ فِيهِ نَخْلٌ وَقُبُورُ الْمُشْرِكِينَ وَخِرَبٌ ، فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالنَّخْلِ ، فَقُطِعَ وَبِقُبُورِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ ، فَنُبِشَتْ وَبِالْخِرَبِ فَسُوِّيَتْ ، قَالَ : فَصَفُّوا النَّخْلَ قِبْلَةً ، وَجَعَلُوا عِضَادَتَيْهِ حِجَارَةً ، قَالَ : فَكَانُوا يَرْتَجِزُونَ ، وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَعَهُمْ " ، وَهُمْ يَقُولُونَ : اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّهُ لَا خَيْرَ إِلَّا خَيْرُ الآخِرَهْ فَانْصُرِ الأَنْصَارَ وَالْمُهَاجِرَهْ .
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came to Madinah and stayed in the upper part of Madinah for fourteen nights with a tribe called Banu 'Amr b 'Auf. He then sent for the chiefs of Banu al-Najir, and they came with swords around their necks. He (the narrator) said: I perceive as if I am seeing the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) on his ride with Abu Bakr (RA) behind him and the chiefs of Banu al-Najjar around him till he alighted in the courtyard of Abu Ayyub. He (the narrator) said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said prayer when the time came for prayer, and he prayed in the fold of goats and sheep. He then ordered mosques to be built and sent for the chiefs of Banu al-Najjar, and they came (to him). He (the Holy Prophet) said to them: O Banu al-Najjar, sell these lands of yours to me. They said: No, by Allah. we would not demand their price, but (reward) from the Lord. Anas said: There (in these lands) were trees and graves of the polytheists, and ruins. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) (may peace he upon him) ordered that the trees should be cut, and the graves should be dug out, and the ruins should be leveled. The trees (were thus) placed in rows towards the qibla and the stones were set on both sides of the door, and (while building the mosque) they (the Companions) sang rajaz verses along with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) : O Allah: there is no good but the good of the next world, So help the Ansar and the Muhajirin.
Hadith 540
وحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَلَّى بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ شِنْظِيرٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَاجَةٍ ، بِمَعْنَى حَدِيثِ حَمَّاد .
This hadith that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent Jabir on an errand has been reported by him through another chain of transmitters.
Hadith 550
وَحَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ . ح قَالَ : وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى ، أَخْبَرَنَا هُشَيْمٌ . ح ، قَالَ : وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ كُلُّهُمْ ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، نَحْوَ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ عُلَيَّةَ ، وَزَادَ فِي حَدِيثِ هُشَيْمٍ ، قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : كَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَرُدُّ ثَوْبَهُ بَعْضَهُ عَلَى بَعْضٍ .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported: I perceive as if I am looking at the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) folding up a part of his cloth with another one.
Hadith 659
وحَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ ، وَأَبُو الرَّبِيعِ كِلَاهُمَا ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ ، قَالَ شَيْبَانُ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، عَنْ أَبِي التَّيَّاحِ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَحْسَنَ النَّاسِ خُلُقًا ، فَرُبَّمَا تَحْضُرُ الصَّلَاةُ وَهُوَ فِي بَيْتِنَا ، فَيَأْمُرُ بِالْبِسَاطِ الَّذِي تَحْتَهُ ، فَيُكْنَسُ ، ثُمَّ يُنْضَحُ ، ثُمَّ يَؤُمُّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَنَقُومُ خَلْفَهُ ، فَيُصَلِّي بِنَا ، وَكَانَ بِسَاطُهُمْ مِنْ جَرِيدِ النَّخْلِ " .
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was the best among people in character. On occasions, the time of prayer would come while he was in our house. He would then order to spread the mat lying under him. That was dusted and then water was sprinkled over it. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) then led the prayer and we stood behind him, and that mat was made of the leaves of date-palm.
Hadith 665
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي الْجُرَيْرِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : خَلَتِ الْبِقَاعُ حَوْلَ الْمَسْجِدِ ، فَأَرَادَ بَنُو سَلِمَةَ ، أَنْ يَنْتَقِلُوا إِلَى قُرْبِ الْمَسْجِدِ ، فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ لَهُمْ : إِنَّهُ بَلَغَنِي أَنَّكُمْ تُرِيدُونَ أَنْ تَنْتَقِلُوا قُرْبَ الْمَسْجِدِ ؟ قَالُوا : نَعَمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَدْ أَرَدْنَا ذَلِكَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا بَنِي سَلِمَةَ ، " دِيَارَكُمْ تُكْتَبْ آثَارُكُمْ ، دِيَارَكُمْ تُكْتَبْ آثَارُكُمْ " .
Jabir bin 'Abdullah (RA) reported: There were some plots vacant around the mosque. Banu Salama decided to shift (to this land) and come near the mosque. This (news) reached the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and he said to them (Banu Salama): I have received (information) that you intend to shift near the mosque. They said: Yes, Messenger of Allah, we have taken this decision. Upon this he (the Holy Prophet) said: O Banu Salama, live in your houses, for your steps are recorded; live in your houses, for your steps are recorded.
Hadith 719
حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ يَعْنِي الرِّشْكَ ، حَدَّثَتْنِي مُعَاذَةُ ، أَنَّهَا سَأَلَتْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، " كَمْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي صَلَاةَ الضُّحَى ؟ قَالَتْ : أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ ، وَيَزِيدُ مَا شَاءَ " .
Mu'adha asked 'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) how many rak'ahs Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) prayed at the forenoon prayer. She replied: Four rak'ahs, but sometimes more as he pleased.
Hadith 721
حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو التَّيَّاحِ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِثَلَاثٍ ، بِصِيَامِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ ، وَرَكْعَتَيِ الضُّحَى ، وَأَنْ أُوتِرَ قَبْلَ أَنْ أَرْقُدَ " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported. My friend (the Holy Prophet, may peace be upon him) has instructed me to do three things: three fasts during every month, two rak'ahs of the forenoon prayer, and observing Witr prayer before going to bed.
Hadith 752
حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، عَنْ أَبِي التَّيَّاحِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو مِجْلَزٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْوِتْرُ رَكْعَةٌ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ " .
Ibn 'Umar (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: Witr is a rak'ah at the end of the night prayer.
Hadith 784
وحَدَّثَنَاه شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ أَنَس ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ .
A hadith like this has been narrated from the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) on the authority of Anas by another chain of transmitters.
Hadith 837
وحَدَّثَنَا وحَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ صُهَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " كُنَّا بِالْمَدِينَةِ ، فَإِذَا أَذَّنَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ لِصَلَاةِ الْمَغْرِبِ ابْتَدَرُوا السَّوَارِيَ ، فَيَرْكَعُونَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، حَتَّى إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ الْغَرِيبَ لَيَدْخُلُ الْمَسْجِدَ ، فَيَحْسِبُ أَنَّ الصَّلَاةَ قَدْ صُلِّيَتْ مِنْ كَثْرَةِ مَنْ يُصَلِّيهِمَا " .
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported: When we were in Madinah, the moment the Mu'adhdhin made the call to the sunset prayer, the people hastened to the pillars of the mosque and prayed two rak'ahs with the result that any stranger coming into the mosque would think that the obligatory prayer had been observed owing to the number who were praying then.
Hadith 964
وحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى التَّمِيمِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ ذَكْوَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ ، قَالَ : " صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَصَلَّى عَلَى أُمِّ كَعْبٍ ، مَاتَتْ وَهِيَ نُفَسَاءُ ، فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِلصَّلَاةِ عَلَيْهَا وَسَطَهَا " ،
ahadeeth bin Jundub said: I prayed behind the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and he prayed for a woman who had died in the state of delivery. He stood in front of her waist.
Hadith 1094
حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَوَادَةَ الْقُشَيْرِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنِي وَالِدِي ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ سَمُرَةَ بْنَ جُنْدُبٍ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدًا صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " لَا يَغُرَّنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ نِدَاءُ بِلَالٍ مِنَ السَّحُورِ ، وَلَا هَذَا الْبَيَاضُ حَتَّى يَسْتَطِيرَ " .
ahadeeth bin Jandub reported Muhammad (ﷺ) as saying. The call of Bilal (RA) may not mislead any one of you (and he may, under the wrong impression gathered from it), refrain from taking meal before the commencement of the fast (for the streaks) of this whiteness (which are vertical) indicate the false dawn and the true dawn with which the fast commences is that when the streaks of light are spread.
Hadith 1102
وحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ جَدِّي ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِثْلِهِ ، وَلَمْ يَقُلْ فِي رَمَضَانَ .
A hadith like this has been transmitted by Ibn 'Umar (Allah be pleased with both of them), but he did not make mention of (the words):" During the month of Ramadan."
Hadith 1160
حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ الرِّشْكِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَتْنِي مُعَاذَةُ الْعَدَوِيَّةُ ، أَنَّهَا سَأَلَتْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، " أَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصُومُ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ ؟ " ، قَالَتْ : " نَعَمْ " ، فَقُلْتُ لَهَا : " مِنْ أَيِّ أَيَّامِ الشَّهْرِ كَانَ يَصُومُ " ، قَالَتْ : " لَمْ يَكُنْ يُبَالِي مِنْ أَيِّ أَيَّامِ الشَّهْرِ يَصُومُ " .
Mu'adha al-'Adawiyya reported that she asked 'A'isha, the wife of the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) , whether the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) observed fasts for three days during every month. She said: Yes. I said to her: Which were (the particular) days of the month on which he observed fast? She said: He was not particular about the days of the month on which to observe fast..
Hadith 1204
وحَدَّثَنَاه إِسْحَاق بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْحَنْظَلِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنِي نُبَيْهُ بْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَعْمَرٍ رَمِدَتْ عَيْنُهُ ، فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يَكْحُلَهَا ، فَنَهَاهُ أَبَانُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ، وَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يُضَمِّدَهَا بِالصَّبِرِ " ، وَحَدَّثَ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ .
Nubaih b Wahb reported that the eyes of Umar bin Ubaidnllah bin Ma'mar were swollen, and he decided to use antimony. Aban bin 'Uthman forbade him to do so and commanded him to apply aloes on them, and reported on the authority of 'Uthman bin Affan that the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) had done that.
Hadith 1321
وحدثنا إِسْحَاقَ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، حدثنا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جُحَادَةَ ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : " كُنَّا نُقَلِّدُ الشَّاءَ ، فَنُرْسِلُ بِهَا ، وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَلَالٌ لَمْ يَحْرُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْهُ شَيْءٌ " .
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported: We used to garland the goats and send them (to Makkah), and Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) stayed back in Madinah as a non-Muhrim ard nothing was forbidden for him (which is forbidden for a Muhrim).
Hadith 1325
حدثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي التَّيَّاحِ الضُّبَعِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنِي مُوسَى بْنُ سَلَمَةَ الْهُذَلِيُّ ، قَالَ : انْطَلَقْتُ أَنَا ، وَسِنَانُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ مُعْتَمِرَيْنِ ، قَالَ : وَانْطَلَقَ سِنَانٌ مَعَهُ بِبَدَنَةٍ يَسُوقُهَا ، فَأَزْحَفَتْ عَلَيْهِ بِالطَّرِيقِ فَعَيِيَ بِشَأْنِهَا إِنْ هِيَ أُبْدِعَتْ كَيْفَ يَأْتِي بِهَا ، فقَالَ : لَئِنْ قَدِمْتُ الْبَلَدَ لَأَسْتَحْفِيَنَّ عَنْ ذَلِكَ ، قَالَ : فَأَضْحَيْتُ فَلَمَّا نَزَلْنَا الْبَطْحَاءَ ، قَالَ : انْطَلِقْ إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، نَتَحَدَّثْ إِلَيْهِ ، قَالَ : فَذَكَرَ لَهُ شَأْنَ بَدَنَتِهِ ، فقَالَ : عَلَى الْخَبِيرِ سَقَطْتَ بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِسِتَّ عَشْرَةَ بَدَنَةً مَعَ رَجُلٍ وَأَمَّرَهُ فِيهَا ، قَالَ : فَمَضَى ، ثُمَّ رَجَعَ ، فقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، كَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ بِمَا أُبْدِعَ عَلَيَّ مِنْهَا ؟ قَالَ : " انْحَرْهَا ، ثُمَّ اصْبُغْ نَعْلَيْهَا فِي دَمِهَا ، ثُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ عَلَى صَفْحَتِهَا ، وَلَا تَأْكُلْ مِنْهَا أَنْتَ وَلَا أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ رُفْقَتِكَ " ،
Musa bin Salama al-Hudhali reported: I and Sinan bin Salama proceeded to Makkah to perform 'Umrah. Sinan had a sacrificial camel with him which he was driving. The camel stopped in the way being completely exhausted and this state of it made him (Sinan) helpless. (He thought) if it stops proceeding further how he would be able to take it, along with him and said: I would definitely find out (the religious verdict) about it. I moved on in the morning and as we encamped at al-Batha', (Sinan) said: Come (along with me) to Ibn 'Abbas (RA) so that we should narrate to him (this incident), and he (Sinan) reported to him the incident of the sacrificial camel. He ( Ibn Abbas (RA) ) said: You have referred (the matter) to the well informed person. (Now listen) Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) sent sixteen sacrificial camels with a man whom he put in charge of them. He set out and came back and said: Messenger of Allah, what should I do with those who are completely exhausted and become powerless to move on, whereupon he said: Slaughter them, and dye their hoofs in their blood, and put them on the sides of their humps, but neither you nor anyone among those who are with you must eat any part of them.
Hadith 1435
وحدثناه قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حدثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ . ح وحدثنا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ جَدِّي ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ . ح وحدثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنِي وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ ، حدثنا شُعْبَةُ . ح وحدثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حدثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، حدثنا سُفْيَانُ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، وَهَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، وَأَبُو مَعَنِ الرَّقَاشِيُّ ، قَالُوا : حدثنا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ ، حدثنا أَبِي ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النُّعْمَانَ بْنَ رَاشِدٍ ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ مَعْبَدٍ ، حدثنا مُعَلَّى بْنُ أَسَدٍ ، حدثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ الْمُخْتَارِ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، كُلُّ هَؤُلَاءِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ ، وَزَادَ فِي حَدِيثِ النُّعْمَانِ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ : إِنْ شَاءَ مُجَبِّيَةً ، وَإِنْ شَاءَ غَيْرَ مُجَبِّيَةٍ غَيْرَ أَنَّ ذَلِكَ فِي صِمَامٍ وَاحِدٍ .
This hadith has been reported on the authority of Jabir through another chain of transmitters, but in the hadith transmitted on the authority of Zuhri there is an addition (of these words): "If he likes he may (have intercourse) being on the back or in front of her, but it should be through one opening (vagina)."
Hadith 1471
وحدثنا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ جَدِّي ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ، وَقَالَ فِي الْحَدِيثِ : فَسَأَلَ عُمَرُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ ، فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يُرَاجِعَهَا حَتَّى يُطَلِّقَهَا طَاهِرًا مِنْ غَيْرِ جِمَاعٍ ، وَقَالَ : يُطَلِّقُهَا فِي قُبُلِ عِدَّتِهَا .
Ayyub reported a hadith like this with the same chain of narrators and he said: Umar (RA) asked Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) about it and he commanded him that he should take her back until she is divorced in the state of purity without having a sexual intercourse with her, and said: Divorce her in the beginning of her 'Idda or her 'Idda commences.
Hadith 1604
حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمِنْهَالِ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالنَّاسُ يُسْلِفُونَ ، فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ أَسْلَفَ فَلَا يُسْلِفْ إِلَّا فِي كَيْلٍ مَعْلُومٍ وَوَزْنٍ مَعْلُومٍ " ،
Ibn 'Abbas (RA) reported that when Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came to (Madinah) and the people were paying in advance (for the fruits, etc.), he said to them: He who makes an advance payment should not make advance payment except for a specified measure and weight (and for a specified period).
Hadith 1625
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَإِسْحاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ وَكِيعٍ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ جَدِّي ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ كُلُّ هَؤُلَاءِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، بِمَعْنَى حَدِيثِ أَبِي خَيْثَمَةَ وَفِي حَدِيثِ أَيُّوبَ مِنَ الزِّيَادَةِ قَالَ : جَعَلَ الْأَنْصَارُ يُعْمِرُونَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَمْسِكُوا عَلَيْكُمْ أَمْوَالَكُمْ " .
This hadith is narrated on the authority of Jabir through other chains of transmitters, but (with this addition of words) that thehadith transmitted on the authority of Ayyub (these words are found):" The Helpers (Ansar) conferred the benefit of 'Umrah, upon the Emigrants (Muhajirin), whereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: Keep your property to yourselves.
Hadith 1646
وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي . ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى وَهُوَ الْقَطَّانُ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي بِشْرُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيل بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا الضَّحَّاكُ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، وَابْنُ رَافِعٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ ، عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الْكَرِيمِ كُلُّ هَؤُلَاءِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ بِمِثْلِ هَذِهِ الْقِصَّةِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
This hadith is narrated on the authority of Ibn 'Umar (RA) through another chain of transmitters.
Hadith 1805
وحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَي بْنُ يَحْيَي ، وَشَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ ، قَالَ يَحْيَى أَخْبَرَنَا ، وقَالَ شَيْبَانُ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، عَنْ أَبِي التَّيَّاحِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : كَانُوا يَرْتَجِزُونَ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم معهم وهم ، يقولون : " اللَّهُمَّ لَا خَيْرَ إِلَّا خَيْرُ الْآخِرَهْ ، فَانْصُرْ الْأَنْصَارَ ، وَالْمُهَاجِرَهْ " ، وَفِي حَدِيثِ شَيْبَانَ بَدَلَ فَانْصُرْ : فَاغْفِرْ .
According to still another version of the tradition narrated by the same authority, and handed down through a different chain of transmitters, it has been reported that they (the Companions of the Holy Prophet) were reciting rajaz verses and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was (reciting) with them. And they were chanting: O God, there is no good but the good of the Hereafter. So help Thou the Ansar and the Muhajirs. Shaiban substituted "So forgive Thou"for "So help Thou".
Hadith 1811
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الدَّارِمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ابْنُ عَمْرٍو وَهُوَ أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ الْمِنْقَرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ صُهَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ أُحُدٍ انْهَزَمَ نَاسٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَأَبُو طَلْحَةَ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُجَوِّبٌ عَلَيْهِ بِحَجَفَةٍ ، قَالَ : وَكَانَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ رَجُلًا رَامِيًا شَدِيدَ النَّزْعِ وَكَسَرَ يَوْمَئِذٍ قَوْسَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا ، قَالَ : فَكَانَ الرَّجُلُ يَمُرُّ مَعَهُ الْجَعْبَةُ مِنَ النَّبْلِ ، فَيَقُولُ : انْثُرْهَا لِأَبِي طَلْحَةَ ، قَالَ : وَيُشْرِفُ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَنْظُرُ إِلَى الْقَوْمِ ، فَيَقُولُ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ : يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ، بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي لَا تُشْرِفْ لَا يُصِبْكَ سَهْمٌ مِنْ سِهَامِ الْقَوْمِ نَحْرِي دُونَ نَحْرِكَ ، قَالَ : وَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ عَائِشَةَ بِنْتَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، وَأُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَمُشَمِّرَتَانِ أَرَى خَدَمَ سُوقِهِمَا تَنْقُلَانِ الْقِرَبَ عَلَى مُتُونِهِمَا ثُمَّ تُفْرِغَانِهِ فِي أَفْوَاهِهِمْ ثُمَّ تَرْجِعَانِ فَتَمْلَآَنِهَا ثُمَّ تَجِيئَانِ تُفْرِغَانِهِ فِي أَفْوَاهِ الْقَوْمِ وَلَقَدْ وَقَعَ السَّيْفُ مِنْ يَدَيْ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ إِمَّا مَرَّتَيْنِ وَإِمَّا ثَلَاثًا مِنَ النُّعَاسِ " .
It has been narrated on the authority of Anas bin Malik (RA) who said: On the Day of Uhud some of the people, being defeated, left the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) (may peace he upon him), but Abu Talha stood before him covering him with a shield. Abu Talha was a powerful archer who broke two or three bows that day. When a man would pass by carrying a quiver containing arrows, he would say: Spare them for Abu Talha. Whenever the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) raised his head to look at the people, Abd Talba would say: Prophet (ﷺ) of Allah, may my father and my mother be thy ransom, do not raise your head lest you be struck by an arrow shot by the enemy. My neck is before your neck. The narrator said: I saw A'isha bint Abu Bakr (RA) and Umm Sulaim, both of them had tucked up their garments, so I could see the anklets on their feet. They were carrying water-skins on their backs and would pour water into the mouths of the people. They would then go back (to the well), would fill them again and would return to pour water into the mouths of the soldiers. (On this day) Abu Talha's sword dropped down from his hands twice or thrice because of drowsiness.
Hadith 1831
وحَدَّثَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ خِرَاشٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ يَحْيَي بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِنَحْوِ حَدِيثِهِمْ .
Abu Hurairah (RA) has narrated this hadith similar to the above mentioned hadith.
Hadith 1849
وحَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْجَعْدُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو رَجَاءٍ الْعُطَارِدِيُّ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ كَرِهَ مِنْ أَمِيرِهِ شَيْئًا فَلْيَصْبِرْ عَلَيْهِ ، فَإِنَّهُ لَيْسَ أَحَدٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ خَرَجَ مِنَ السُّلْطَانِ شِبْرًا ، فَمَاتَ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا مَاتَ مِيتَةً جَاهِلِيَّةً " .
It has been narrated (through a different chain of transmitters) on the authority of Ibn Abbas (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) (may peace be upoh him) said: One who dislikes a thing done by his Amir should be patient over it, for anyone from the people who withdraws (his obedience) from the government, even to the extent of a handspan and died in that conditions, would die the death of one belonging to the days of jahilliyya.
Hadith 1896
وحَدَّثَنِيهِ إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ ، عَنْ يَحْيَي ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى الْمَهْرِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيُّ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بَعَثَ بَعْثًا بِمَعْنَاهُ ،
The above tradition has also been narrated through two different chains of transmitters on the authority of Abu Sa'id Khudri and Yahya, respectively.
Hadith 2028
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَي بْنُ يَحْيَي ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، عَنْ أَبِي عِصَامٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَنَفَّسُ فِي الشَّرَابِ ثَلَاثًا ، وَيَقُولُ : إِنَّهُ أَرْوَى وَأَبْرَأُ وَأَمْرَأُ " ، قَالَ أَنَسٌ : فَأَنَا أَتَنَفَّسُ فِي الشَّرَابِ ثَلَاثًا .
Anas reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) breathed three times (outside the vessel) in the course of a drink and said: It is more thirst-quenching, healthier and more wholesome. Anas said: So I also breathe three times in the course of a drink.
Hadith 2068
حدثني مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَي بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، قال : قَالَ لِي : سَالِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ فِي الْإِسْتَبْرَقِ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : مَا غَلُظَ مِنَ الدِّيبَاجِ وَخَشُنَ مِنْهُ ، فَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ ، يقول : رَأَى عُمَرُ عَلَى رَجُلٍ حُلَّةً مِنْ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ ، فَأَتَى بِهَا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَ حَدِيثِهِمْ ، غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ : إِنَّمَا بَعَثْتُ بِهَا إِلَيْكَ لِتُصِيبَ بِهَا مَالًا .
Ibn 'Umar reported that 'Umar saw a person with a garment of brocade and he brought it to Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) -the rest of the hadith is the same, except for the words that he (the Holy Prophet) said: I sent it to you that you might get money thereby.
