Hadith 3287
´Narrated Ibn Mas'ud:` "The moon was cleft asunder during the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), so the Prophet (ﷺ) said to us: 'Bear witness.'"
Hadith 3390
حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ بْنُ وَكِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا
جَرِيرٌ، عَنِ
الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ
إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ، عَنْ
عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ
عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ : " كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَمْسَى قَالَ : أَمْسَيْنَا وَأَمْسَى الْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ، وَلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ ، أُرَاهُ قَالَ فِيهَا : لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ، أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ مَا فِي هَذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ وَخَيْرَ مَا بَعْدَهَا ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ هَذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ وَشَرِّ مَا بَعْدَهَا ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْكَسَلِ وَسُوءِ الْكِبَرِ ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ النَّارِ وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ ، وَإِذَا أَصْبَحَ قَالَ : ذَلِكَ أَيْضًا أَصْبَحْنَا وَأَصْبَحَ الْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ ، وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ شُعْبَةُ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ لَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ .
´`Abdullah said:` “When he reached the evening, the Prophet (ﷺ) used to say, ‘We have reached the evening, and the Dominion has reached the evening, while belonging to Allah. And all praise belongs to Allah. None has the right to be worshiped but Allah, alone, without partner. (Amsaina wa amsal-mulku lillāh, wal-ḥamdullilāh, wa lā ilāha illallāh, waḥdahu lā sharīka lahu)’ – I think he said [in it]: - ‘To Him belongs the Dominion, and to Him is the praise, and He is capable of all things. I ask You for the good that is in this night, and the good of what is after it, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of this night, and the evil of what is after it, and I seek refuge in You from laziness and helpless old age. And I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the Fire and the punishment of the grave (Lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamdu, wa huwa `alā kulli shai'in qadīr. Asa'luka khaira mā fī hādhihil-lailah, wa khaira mā ba`dahā, wa a`ūdhu bika min sharri hādhihil-lailati wa sharri mā ba`dahā, wa a`ūdhu bika minal-kasali wa sū'il-kibar, wa a`ūdhu bika min `adhābin-nāri wa `adhābil-qabr).’ And when he reached the morning, he (ﷺ) used to say, ‘We have reached the morning, and the Dominion has reached the morning, while belonging to Allah. And all praise belongs to Allah (Aṣbaḥnā wa aṣbaḥal-mulku lillāh, wal-ḥamdulillāh).’”
Hadith 3462
´Ibn Mas`ud narrated that:` The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “I met Ibrahim on the night of my ascent, so he said: ‘O Muhammad, recite Salam from me to your nation, and inform them that Paradise has pure soil and delicious water, and that it is a flat treeless plain, and that its seeds are: “Glory is to Allah (Subḥān Allāh) [and] all praise is due to Allah (Al-ḥamdulillāh) and ‘none has the right to be worshipped but Allah’ (Lā ilāha illallāh), and Allah is the greatest (Allāhu Akbar).”
Hadith 3489
´`Abdullah narrated that :` the Prophet (ﷺ) used to supplicate: “O Allah, indeed, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and sufficiency (Allāhumma innī as’alukal-hudā wat-tuqā, wal-`afāfa wal-ghinā).”
Hadith 3530
´`Amr bin Murrah said:` “I heard Abu Wa’il say: ‘`Abdullah bin Mas`ud said’ and I said to him: ‘Did you hear it from `Abdullah?’ He said: ‘Yes.’ And he narrated it in Marfu` form that he said: ‘There is none with more Ghirah than Allah, and due to this He prohibited the lewd sins, that which is apparent of them and that which is hidden. And there is none to whom praise is more beloved than Allah, and due to this, He praised Himself.’”
Hadith 3571
´`Abdullah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “Ask Allah of His Bounty. For verily, Allah the Mighty and Sublime, loves to be asked, and the best of worship is awaiting relief.”
Hadith 3633

مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا
أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا
إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ
مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ
إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ
عَلْقَمَةَ، عَنْ
عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ : إِنَّكُمْ تَعُدُّونَ الْآيَاتِ عَذَابًا ، وَإِنَّا كُنَّا نَعُدُّهَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَرَكَةً ، لَقَدْ كُنَّا نَأْكُلُ الطَّعَامَ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَنَحْنُ نَسْمَعُ تَسْبِيحَ الطَّعَامِ ، قَالَ : وَأُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِإِنَاءٍ فَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ فِيهِ , فَجَعَلَ الْمَاءُ يَنْبُعُ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَصَابِعِهِ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " حَيَّ عَلَى الْوَضُوءِ الْمُبَارَكِ , وَالْبَرَكَةُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ " حَتَّى تَوَضَّأْنَا كُلُّنَا . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ .
´Narrated 'Abdullah:` "You consider the signs to be punishment, whereas we used to think of them as a blessing during the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). We used to eat food with the Prophet (ﷺ) and we would hear the food's Tasbih." He said: "And the Prophet (ﷺ) was brought a container, so he put his hand it in, and the water began to spring from between his fingers. So the Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'Hasten to the blessed Wudu and the blessing from the heavens' until all of had performed Wudu."
Hadith 3655

مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا
عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا
الثَّوْرِيُّ، عَنْ
أَبِي إِسْحَاق، عَنْ
أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ
عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَبْرَأُ إِلَى كُلِّ خَلِيلٍ مِنْ خِلِّهِ وَلَوْ كُنْتُ مُتَّخِذًا خَلِيلًا لَاتَّخَذْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي قُحَافَةَ خَلِيلًا ، وَإِنَّ صَاحِبَكُمْ خَلِيلُ اللَّهِ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ ، وَفِي الْبَابِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، وَابْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ .
´Narrated 'Abdullah:` that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "I free myself of the friendship of every Khalil, and if I were to take a Khalil then I would have taken Ibn Abi Quhafah as a Khalil. And indeed your companion is Allah's Khalil."
Hadith 3694
´Narrated 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud:` that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "A man among the inhabitants of Paradise will appear before you." So Abu Bakr appeared. Then he said: "A man among the inhabitants of Paradise will appear before you." So 'Umar appeared.
Hadith 3805

أَبِي، عَنْ
أَبِيهِ، عَنْ
سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ
أَبِي الزَّعْرَاءِ، عَنِ
ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اقْتَدُوا بِاللَّذَيْنِ مِنْ بَعْدِي مِنْ أَصْحَابِي أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ ، وَاهْتَدُوا بِهَدْيِ عَمَّارٍ ، وَتَمَسَّكُوا بِعَهْدِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ " . قَالَ : هَذَا حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ حَدِيثِ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ ، وَيَحْيَى بْنُ سَلَمَةَ يُضَعَّفُ فِي الْحَدِيثِ ، وَأَبُو الزَّعْرَاءِ اسْمُهُ : عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ هَانِئٍ ، وَأَبُو الزَّعْرَاءِ الَّذِي رَوَى عَنْهُ شُعْبَةُ , وَالثَّوْرِيُّ , وَابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ اسْمُهُ : عَمْرُو بْنُ عَمْرٍو وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَخِي أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ صَاحِبِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ .
´Narrated Ibn Mas'ud:` that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Take as examples the two after me from my Companions, Abu Bakr and 'Umar. And act upon the guidance of 'Ammar, and hold fast to the advice of Ibn Mas'ud."
Hadith 3859

أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ
الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ
إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ
عَبِيدَةَ هُوَ السَّلْمَانِيُّ، عَنْ
عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " خَيْرُ النَّاسِ قَرْنِي ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ، ثُمَّ يَأْتِي قَوْمٌ مِنْ بَعْدِ ذَلِكَ تَسْبِقُ أَيْمَانُهُمْ شَهَادَاتِهِمْ أَوْ شَهَادَاتُهُمْ أَيْمَانَهُمْ " . وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ عُمَرَ ، وَعِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ، وَبُرَيْدَةَ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ .
´Narrated 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud:` that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "The best generation is my generation, then those who follow them, then those who follow them. Then comes a people after that whose swearing precedes their testimony, or whose testimony precedes their swearing."
Hadith 3896

مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا
مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، عَنْ
إِسْرَائِيلَ، عَنْ
الْوَلِيدِ، عَنْ
زَيْدِ بْنِ زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ
عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يُبَلِّغُنِي أَحَدٌ عَنْ أَحَدٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِي شَيْئًا ، فَإِنِّي أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَخْرُجَ إِلَيْهِمْ وَأَنَا سَلِيمُ الصَّدْرِ " ، قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ : فَأُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمَالٍ فَقَسَّمَهُ ، فَانْتَهَيْتُ إِلَى رَجُلَيْنِ جَالِسَيْنِ وَهُمَا يَقُولَانِ : وَاللَّهِ مَا أَرَادَ مُحَمَّدٌ بِقِسْمَتِهِ الَّتِي قَسَمَهَا وَجْهَ اللَّهِ وَلَا الدَّارَ الْآخِرَةَ ، فَتَثَبَّتُّ حِينَ سَمِعْتُهُمَا ، فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَخْبَرْتُهُ , فَاحْمَرَّ وَجْهُهُ وَقَالَ : " دَعْنِي عَنْكَ فَقَدْ أُوذِيَ مُوسَى بِأَكْثَرَ مِنْ هَذَا فَصَبَرَ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ ، وَقَدْ زِيدَ فِي هَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ رَجُلٌ .
´Narrated 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud:` that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "No one should convey to me anything regarding any of my Companions, for I love that I should go out to them while my breast is at peace." 'Abdullah said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was brought some wealth, so the Prophet (ﷺ) distributed it. Then I came across two men that were sitting saying: 'By Allah! Muhammad (ﷺ) did not intend the Face of Allah in his distribution, nor the abode of the Hereafter.' So I spread this when I heard them, and I went to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and I informed him. So his face became red and he said: 'Do not bother me with this, for indeed Musa was afflicted by more than this and he was patient.'"
Hadith 3897
´Narrated 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud:` that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "No one should convey to me anything regarding anyone."
