Hadith 646
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زُرَيْعٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي يَحْيَى ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، سَمِعَهُ مِنْ فَمِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " الْمُؤَذِّنُ يُغْفَرُ لَهُ بِمَدِّ صَوْتِهِ وَيَشْهَدُ لَهُ كُلُّ رَطْبٍ وَيَابِسٍ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah, who heard it from the mouth of the Messenger of Allah (S.A.W):` "The Mu'adhdhin will be forgiven as far as his voice reaches, and every wet and dry thing will bear witness for him."
Hadith 659
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ الْحَكَمِ ، وَسَلَمَةُ بْنُ كُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، أَنَّهُ " صَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ وَالْعِشَاءَ بِجَمْعٍ بِإِقَامَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ " . ثُمَّ حَدَّثَ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّهُ صَنَعَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ ، وَحَدَّثَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَنَعَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ .
It was narrated from Sa'eed bin Jubair that he prayed Maghrib and 'Isha' in Jam' (Muzdalifah) with one Iqamah, then he narrated that Ibn 'Umar had done that, and Ibn 'Umar narrated that the Prophet (S.A.W) had done that.
Hadith 666
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ رُبَيِّعَةَ ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ ، فَسَمِعَ صَوْتَ رَجُلٍ يُؤَذِّنُ ، فَقَالَ مِثْلَ قَوْلِهِ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " إِنَّ هَذَا لَرَاعِي غَنَمٍ أَوْ عَازِبٌ عَنْ أَهْلِهِ ، فَنَظَرُوا ، فَإِذَا هُوَ رَاعِي غَنَمٍ " .
´It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin Rubayyi'ah that he was with the Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) on a journey and he heard the voice of a man calling the Adhan, and he said what he said. Then he said:` "This is a shepherd or a man who is away from his family." So they looked and so it was a shepherd.
Hadith 669
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ مُؤَذِّنَ مَسْجِدِ الْعُرْيَانِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُثَنَّى مُؤَذِّنِ مَسْجِدِ الْجَامِعِ قال : سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ عَنِ الْأَذَانِ ، فَقَالَ : " كَانَ الْأَذَانُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى ، وَالْإِقَامَةُ مَرَّةً مَرَّةً ، إِلَّا أَنَّكَ إِذَا قُلْتَ : قَدْ قَامَتِ الصَّلَاةُ ، قَالَهَا مَرَّتَيْنِ ، فَإِذَا سَمِعْنَا : قَدْ قَامَتِ الصَّلَاةُ ، تَوَضَّأْنَا ثُمَّ خَرَجْنَا إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Al-Muthanna, the Mu'adhdhin of the Jami' Masjid, said:` "I asked Ibn 'Umar about the Adhan and he said: 'At the time of the Messenger of Allah (S.A.W), the phrases of the Adhan were recited twice and the phrases of Iqamah once, except that you should say (the phrase) Qad qamat is-salah (prayer is about to begin)twice. When we heard 'prayer is about to begin' we would perform Wudu' and go out to pray.'"
Hadith 683
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قال : " كَانَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ إِذَا أَذَّنَ قَامَ نَاسٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَيَبْتَدِرُونَ السَّوَارِيَ يُصَلُّونَ حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُمْ كَذَلِكَ ، وَيُصَلُّونَ قَبْلَ الْمَغْرِبِ ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ بَيْنَ الْأَذَانِ وَالْإِقَامَةِ شَيْءٌ " .
´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:` "When the Mu'adhdhin called the Adhan, some of the Companions of the Prophet (S.A.W) would get up and rush to the pillars (in the Masjid) and pray until the Prophet (S.A.W) came out and they were like that. They would pray before Maghrib and there was nothing between the Adhan and Iqamah."
Hadith 721
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا النَّضْرُ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ ، وَالْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ .
´It was narrated that Sulaiman said:` "I heard Ibrahim (narrate) from 'Alqamah and Al-Aswad from 'Abdullah," and he narrated something similar.
Hadith 739
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ يَعْنِي الشَّيْبَانِيَّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ " يُصَلِّي عَلَى الْخُمْرَةِ " .
It was narrated from Maimunah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to pray on a mat.
Hadith 752
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ ، وَهِشَامٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، قال : قُلْتُ لِجَابِرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ : مَا يَقْطَعُ الصَّلَاةَ ؟ قَالَ : كَانَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ ، يَقُولُ : " الْمَرْأَةُ الْحَائِضُ وَالْكَلْبُ " . قَالَ يَحْيَى : رَفَعَهُ شُعْبَةُ .
´It was narrated that Qatadah said:` "I aid to Jabir bin Zaid: "What invalidates prayer?" He said: "Ibn Abbas used to say: A menstruating woman and a dog." (One of the narrators)Yahya said: "Shubah said it was a marfu report."
Hadith 755
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْأَشْعَثِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، أَنَّ الْحَكَمَ أَخْبَرَهُ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ يَحْيَى بْنَ الْجَزَّارِ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ صُهَيْبٍ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، يُحَدِّثُ أَنَّهُ " مَرَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هُوَ وَغُلَامٌ مِنْ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ عَلَى حِمَارٍ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي ، فَنَزَلُوا وَدَخَلُوا مَعَهُ فَصَلَّوْا وَلَمْ يَنْصَرِفْ ، فَجَاءَتْ جَارِيَتَانِ تَسْعَيَانِ مِنْ بَنِي عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ فَأَخَذَتَا بِرُكْبَتَيْهِ فَفَرَعَ بَيْنَهُمَا وَلَمْ يَنْصَرِفْ " .
´It was narrated that Suhaib said:` "I heard Ibn Abbas narrate that he passed in front of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), he and a young boy of Banu Hashim, riding a donkey in front of the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) when he was praying. Then they dismounted and joined the prayer, and he did not stop praying. Then two young girls of Banu Abdul-Muttalib started running around and grabbing him by the knees. He separated them but he did not stop praying."
Hadith 756
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، قالت : " كُنْتُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي ، فَإِذَا أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَقُومَ كَرِهْتُ أَنْ أَقُومَ فَأَمُرَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ انْسَلَلْتُ انْسِلَالًا " .
´It was narrated that Aishah, may Allah be pleased with her, said:` "I was in front of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) when he was praying, and when I wanted to leave I did not want to get up and pass in front of him, so I just slipped away slowly and quietly."
Hadith 762
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى الصَّنْعَانِيُّ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ الْقَاسِمَ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قالت : كَانَ فِي بَيْتِي ثَوْبٌ فِيهِ تَصَاوِيرُ فَجَعَلْتُهُ إِلَى سَهْوَةٍ فِي الْبَيْتِ ، فَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي إِلَيْهِ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " يَا عَائِشَةُ أَخِّرِيهِ عَنِّي " ، فَنَزَعْتُهُ فَجَعَلْتُهُ وَسَائِدَ .
´It was narrated that Aisha said:` "In my house there was a cloth on which there were images, which I covered a closet which is in the house, and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to pray toward it. Then he said: '0 Aisha, take it away from me.' So I removed it and made pillows out of it."
Hadith 775
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ هَمَّامٍ ، قال : رَأَيْتُ جَرِيرًا " بَالَ ، ثُمَّ دَعَا بِمَاءٍ فَتَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ ، ثُمَّ قَامَ فَصَلَّى فَسُئِلَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ ، فَقال : رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَنَعَ مِثْلَ هَذَا " .
´It was narrated that Hammam said:` "I saw Jarir urinate, then he called for water and performed wudhu, and wiped over his Khuffs, then he stood up and prayed. He was asked about that and he said: 'I saw the Prophet(ﷺ) do exactly like this.'"
Hadith 784
أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ التَّيْمِيُّ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ رَجَاءٍ ، عَنْ أَوْسِ بْنِ ضَمْعَجٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ ، قال : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يُؤَمُّ الرَّجُلُ فِي سُلْطَانِهِ وَلَا يُجْلَسُ عَلَى تَكْرِمَتِهِ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Masud said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'A man should not be led in prayer in his place of authority, and no one should sit in his place of honor except with his permission."'
Hadith 787
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ عِيسَى صَاحِبُ الْبُصْرَى ، قال : سَمِعْتُ شُعْبَةَ يَذْكُرُ ، عَنْ نُعَيْمِ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا " أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ صَلَّى لِلنَّاسِ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الصَّفِّ " .
It was narrated from Aisha that Abu Bakr led the people in prayer and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)was in the row.
Hadith 798
أَخْبَرَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَبِي عَائِشَةَ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ عُبَيْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَمَرَ أَبَا بَكْرٍ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ بِالنَّاسِ قَالَتْ وَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ فَصَلَّى قَاعِدًا وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ وَالنَّاسُ خَلْفَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ " .
´It was narrated from Aisha may Allah be pleased with her, that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) told Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer. She said:` "The Prophet was in front of Abu Bakr and he prayed sitting down, and Abu Bakr was leading the people in prayer, and the people were behind Abu Bakr."
Hadith 804
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مُخْتَارٍ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّهُ كَانَ هُوَ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأُمُّهُ وَخَالَتُهُ " فَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَجَعَلَ أَنَسًا عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَأُمَّهُ وَخَالَتَهُ خَلْفَهُمَا " .
It was narrated from Anas that he and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and his mother, and his maternal aunt (were together). The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prayed, and he told Anas to stand on his right and his mother and maternal aunt behind them.
Hadith 806
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُخْتَارِ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قال : " صَلَّى بِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَبِامْرَأَةٍ مِنْ أَهْلِي فَأَقَامَنِي عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَالْمَرْأَةُ خَلْفَنَا " .
´It was narrated that Anas said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) led me and a woman from my family in prayer. He made me to stand on his right and the woman to stand behind us."
Hadith 813
أَخْبَرَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ ، قال : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَمْسَحُ عَوَاتِقَنَا وَيَقُولُ : " اسْتَوُوا وَلَا تَخْتَلِفُوا فَتَخْتَلِفَ قُلُوبُكُمْ وَلْيَلِيَنِّي مِنْكُمْ أُولُو الْأَحْلَامِ وَالنُّهَى ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Mas'ad Al-Ansari said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to gently pat our shoulders (to make sure the row was straight) at the time of prayer, and he would say: 'Keep (the rows) straight; do not differ from one another lest your hearts should suffer from discord. Let those who are mature and wise stand closest to me, then those who are next to them, then those who are next to them."'
Hadith 830
أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ يَزِيدَ يَخْطُبُ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا الْبَرَاءُ وَكَانَ غَيْرَ كَذُوبٍ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا إِذَا صَلَّوْا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ قَامُوا قِيَامًا حَتَّى يَرَوْهُ سَاجِدًا ثُمَّ سَجَدُوا " .
´It was narrated that Abu Ishaq said:` "I heard 'Abdullah bin Yazid delivering a Khutbah. He said: 'Al-Bara, who was no liar,told us that when they prayed with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would raise his head from bowing and they would remain standing until they saw him prostrate, then they would prostrate."'

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُمْ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ شُعْبَةُ ، وَقَالَ أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ وَقَدْ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْهُ وَمِنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أُبَيَّ بْنَ كَعْبٍ يَقُولُ : صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمًا صَلَاةَ الصُّبْحِ فَقَالَ : " أَشَهِدَ فُلَانٌ الصَّلَاةَ " قَالُوا : لَا قَالَ : " فَفُلَانٌ " قَالُوا : لَا قَالَ : " إِنَّ هَاتَيْنِ الصَّلَاتَيْنِ مِنْ أَثْقَلِ الصَّلَاةِ عَلَى الْمُنَافِقِينَ وَلَوْ يَعْلَمُونَ مَا فِيهِمَا لَأَتَوْهُمَا وَلَوْ حَبْوًا وَالصَّفُّ الْأَوَّلُ عَلَى مِثْلِ صَفِّ الْمَلَائِكَةِ وَلَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ فَضِيلَتَهُ لَابْتَدَرْتُمُوهُ وَصَلَاةُ الرَّجُلِ مَعَ الرَّجُلِ أَزْكَى مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ وَحْدَهُ وَصَلَاةُ الرَّجُلِ مَعَ الرَّجُلَيْنِ أَزْكَى مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ مَعَ الرَّجُلِ وَمَا كَانُوا أَكْثَرَ فَهُوَ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
´Ubay bin Ka'b said:` "One day the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prayed Fajr, then he said: 'Did so-and-so attend the prayer? They said: 'No.' He said: '(What about) so-and-so? They said:'No' He said: 'These two prayers. are the most burdensome for the hypocrites. If they knew what (virtue) there is in them, they would come, even if they had to crawl. And the virtue of the first row is like that of the row of the angels. If you knew its virtue, you would compete for it. A man's prayer with another man is greater in reward than his prayer alone. And a man's prayer with two other men is greater in reward than his prayer with one other man; the more people there are, the more beloved that is to Allah, the Mighty and Sublime."'
Hadith 855
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمَلِيحِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قال : كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : بِحُنَيْنٍ فَأَصَابَنَا مَطَرٌ " فَنَادَى مُنَادِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ صَلُّوا فِي رِحَالِكُمْ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Al Malih that his father said:` "We were with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) in Hunain and it rained. The caller of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) called out, telling us: 'Pray where you are."'
Hadith 860
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ صُدْرَانَ ، وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ بُدَيْلٍ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْعَالِيَةَ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قال : قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَضَرَبَ فَخِذِي " كَيْفَ أَنْتَ إِذَا بَقِيتَ فِي قَوْمٍ يُؤَخِّرُونَ الصَّلَاةَ عَنْ وَقْتِهَا " قَالَ : مَا تَأْمُرُ قَالَ : " صَلِّ الصَّلَاةَ لِوَقْتِهَا ثُمَّ اذْهَبْ لِحَاجَتِكَ فَإِنْ أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ وَأَنْتَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَصَلِّ " .
´It was narrated that Ahu Dharr said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to me, and struck my thigh: 'What will you do if you stay among people who delay the prayer until its time is over?' He said: 'What do you command me to do?' He said: 'Offer the prayer on time, then go about your business. Then if the Iqamah for that prayer is said and you are in the Masjid, then pray.'"
Hadith 867
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ وَرْقَاءَ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَلَا صَلَاةَ إِلَّا الْمَكْتُوبَةُ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` "When the Iqamah for prayer is said, there is no prayer except the prescribed prayer."
Hadith 875
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ ضَمْرَةَ ، قال : سَأَلْنَا عَلِيًّا عَنْ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : أَيُّكُمْ يُطِيقُ ذَلِكَ قُلْنَا إِنْ لَمْ نُطِقْهُ سَمِعْنَا ، قَالَ : " كَانَ إِذَا كَانَتِ الشَّمْسُ مِنْ هَا هُنَا كَهَيْئَتِهَا مِنْ هَا هُنَا عِنْدَ الْعَصْرِ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ فَإِذَا كَانَتْ مِنْ هَا هُنَا كَهَيْئَتِهَا مِنْ هَا هُنَا عِنْدَ الظُّهْرِ صَلَّى أَرْبَعًا وَيُصَلِّي قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ أَرْبَعًا وَبَعْدَهَا ثِنْتَيْنِ وَيُصَلِّي قَبْلَ الْعَصْرِ أَرْبَعًا يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَ كُلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ بِتَسْلِيمٍ عَلَى الْمَلَائِكَةِ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ وَالنَّبِيِّينَ وَمَنْ تَبِعَهُمْ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُسْلِمِينَ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Ishaq, that 'Asim bin Damrah said:` "We asked 'Ali about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). He said: 'Who among you could manage to do that?' We said: 'Even if we cannot do it, we still want to hear about it.' He said: 'When the sun reached the same height (in the east) as it reaches (in the west) at the time of 'Asr, he would pray two rak'ahs, and when the sun reached the same height (in the east) as it reaches (in the west) at the time for Zuhr he would pray four Rak'ahs. He would pray four Rak'ahs before Zuhr and two after, and he would pray four Rak'ahs before 'Asr, separating each two Rak'ahs with Taslim upon the angels who are close to Allah, and the prophets, and those who follow them of the believers and Muslims."'
Hadith 881
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ نَصْرَ بْنَ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْحُوَيْرِثِ وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ حِينَ يُكَبِّرُ حِيَالَ أُذُنَيْهِ وَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ " .
´It was narrated from Malik bin Al-Huwairith- who was one of the companions of the Prophet (ﷺ)- that:` When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prayed he would raise his hands-when he said the Takbir- until they were parallel to his ears, and when he wanted to bow and when he raised his head from bowing.
Hadith 894
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي مَيْسَرَةُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ الْمِنْهَالَ بْنَ عَمْرٍو يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَجُلًا يُصَلِّي قَدْ صَفَّ بَيْنَ قَدَمَيْهِ فَقَالَ : " أَخْطَأَ السُّنَّةَ وَلَوْ رَاوَحَ بَيْنَهُمَا كَانَ أَعْجَبَ إِلَيَّ " .
´It was narrated from Abdullah that:` He saw a man praying with his feet together. He said: "He is not following the Sunnah. If he were to shift his weight from one to the other I would like that better."
Hadith 908
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْأَشَجّ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي عُقْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قال : " صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ ، وَعُمَرَ ، وَعُثْمَانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ فَلَمْ أَسْمَعْ أَحَدًا مِنْهُمْ يَجْهَرُ بِ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ سورة الفاتحة آية 1 " .
´It was narrated that Anas said:` "I prayed behind the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman, may Allah be pleased with them, and I did not hear any of them say out loud: In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful."
Hadith 914
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ قال : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ خُبَيْبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قال : سَمِعْتُ حَفْصَ بْنَ عَاصِمٍ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُعَلَّى ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّ بِهِ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي فَدَعَاهُ قَالَ : فَصَلَّيْتُ ، ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُهُ فَقَالَ : " مَا مَنَعَكَ أَنْ تُجِيبَنِي " قَالَ كُنْتُ أُصَلِّي قَالَ : أَلَمْ يَقُلِ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اسْتَجِيبُوا لِلَّهِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ إِذَا دَعَاكُمْ لِمَا يُحْيِيكُمْ سورة الأنفال آية 24 " أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ أَعْظَمَ سُورَةٍ قَبْلَ أَنْ أَخْرُجَ مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ قَالَ : فَذَهَبَ لِيَخْرُجَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَوْلَكَ قَالَ : " الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ هِيَ السَّبْعُ الْمَثَانِي الَّذِي أُوتِيتُ وَالْقُرْآنُ الْعَظِيمُ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Sa'eed bin Al-Mu'alla that:` The Prophet (ﷺ) passed by him when he was praying, and called him. He said: "I finished praying, then I came to him, and he said: 'What kept you from answering me?' He said: 'I was praying.' He said: 'Does not Allah say: O you who believe! Answer Allah (by obeying Him) and (His) Messenger when he calls you to that which will give you life? Shall I not teach you the greatest surah before I leave the masjid?' Then he went to leave, and I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what about what you said?' He said: "All praise and thanks be to Allah, Lord of all that exists. These are the seven oft-recited that I have been given, and the Grand Quran.'"
Hadith 918
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ زُرَارَةَ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ، قال : صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الظُّهْرَ فَقَرَأَ رَجُلٌ خَلْفَهُ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى فَلَمَّا صَلَّى قَالَ : " مَنْ قَرَأَ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى " ، قَالَ رَجُلٌ : أَنَا قَالَ : " قَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَنَّ بَعْضَكُمْ قَدْ خَالَجَنِيهَا " .
´It was narrated that Imran bin Hussain said:` "The Prophet (ﷺ) prayed Zuhr and a man behind him recited: Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High. When he had finished praying, he said: 'Who recited: Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High?" A man said: 'I did.' He said: 'I realized that some of you were disputing with me over it'".
Hadith 940
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قال : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ غُنْدَرٌ قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ عِنْدَ أَضَاةِ بَنِي غِفَارٍ فَأَتَاهُ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام فَقَالَ : إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَأْمُرُكَ أَنْ تُقْرِئَ أُمَّتَكَ الْقُرْآنَ عَلَى حَرْفٍ ، قَالَ : " أَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ مُعَافَاتَهُ وَمَغْفِرَتَهُ وَإِنَّ أُمَّتِي لَا تُطِيقُ ذَلِكَ " ، ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ الثَّانِيَةَ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَأْمُرُكَ أَنْ تُقْرِئَ أُمَّتَكَ الْقُرْآنَ عَلَى حَرْفَيْنِ ، قَالَ : " أَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ مُعَافَاتَهُ وَمَغْفِرَتَهُ وَإِنَّ أُمَّتِي لَا تُطِيقُ ذَلِكَ " ، ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ الثَّالِثَةَ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَأْمُرُكَ أَنْ تُقْرِئَ أُمَّتَكَ الْقُرْآنَ عَلَى ثَلَاثَةِ أَحْرُفٍ ، فَقَالَ : " أَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ مُعَافَاتَهُ وَمَغْفِرَتَهُ وَإِنَّ أُمَّتِي لَا تُطِيقُ ذَلِكَ " ، ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ الرَّابِعَةَ فَقَالَ : إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَأْمُرُكَ أَنْ تُقْرِئَ أُمَّتَكَ الْقُرْآنَ عَلَى سَبْعَةِ أَحْرُفٍ فَأَيُّمَا حَرْفٍ قَرَءُوا عَلَيْهِ فَقَدْ أَصَابُوا " قَالَ : أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ : هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ خُولِفَ فِيهِ الْحَكَمُ خَالَفَهُ مَنْصُورُ بْنُ الْمُعْتَمِرِ . رَوَاهُ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ مُرْسَلًا .
´It was narrated from Ubayy bin Ka'b that:` The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was by a pond belonging to Banu Ghifar when Jibril, peace be upon him, came to him and said: "Allah commands you to teach your Ummah the Quran with one way of recitation." He said: "I ask my Lord for protection and forgiveness, my Ummah cannot bear that." Then he came to him a second time and said: "Allah commands you to teach your Ummah the Quran with two ways of recitation." He said: ""I ask my Lord for protection and forgiveness, my Ummah cannot bear that." Then he came to him a third time and said: "Allah commands you to teach your Ummah the Quran with three ways of recitation." He said: "I ask my Lord for protection and forgiveness, my Ummah cannot bear that." Then he came to him a fourth time and said: "Allah commands you to teach your Ummah the Quran with seven ways of recitation, and whichever the way they recite it will be correct."
Hadith 944
أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " بِئْسَمَا لِأَحَدِهِمْ أَنْ يَقُولَ نَسِيتُ آيَةَ كَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ بَلْ هُوَ نُسِّيَ اسْتَذْكِرُوا الْقُرْآنَ فَإِنَّهُ أَسْرَعُ تَفَصِّيًا مِنْ صُدُورِ الرِّجَالِ مِنَ النَّعَمِ مِنْ عُقُلِهِ " .
´It was narrated from Abdullah that:` The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "It is not right for any one of you to say: 'I have forgotten such and such a verse.' Rather, he has been caused to forget. Study the Qur'an, for it escapes from the heart of man faster than a camel escapes from its fetter. "
Hadith 951
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى ، وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ قال : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ قال : سَمِعْتُ عَمِّي يَقُولُ : صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الصُّبْحَ " فَقَرَأَ فِي إِحْدَى الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ وَالنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَاتٍ لَهَا طَلْعٌ نَضِيدٌ " ، قَالَ شُعْبَةُ : فَلَقِيتُهُ فِي السُّوقِ فِي الزِّحَامِ فَقَالَ ق .
´It was narrated that Ziyad bin Ilaqah said:` "I heard my paternal uncle say: 'I prayed Subh with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and in one of the rak'ahs he recited: "And tall date palms, with ranged clusters."
Hadith 960
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ قال : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " قَرَأَ النَّجْمَ فَسَجَدَ فِيهَا " .
´It was narrated from Abdullah that:` The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) recited An-Najm and prostrated during it.
Hadith 981
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، قال : كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَقْرَأُ فِي الظُّهْرِ وَ اللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَى وَفِي الْعَصْرِ نَحْوَ ذَلِكَ وَفِي الصُّبْحِ بِأَطْوَلَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ " .
´It was narrated that Jabir bin Samurah said:` "The Prophet (ﷺ) used to recite "By the night as it envelops" in Zuhr and something similar in 'Asr, and he would recite something longer than that in subh."
Hadith 1002
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ ، قال : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ فَقَرَأَ فِي الْعِشَاءِ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الْأُولَى ب التِّينِ وَالزَّيْتُونِ " .
´It was narrated that Al-Bara' bin Azib said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was on a journey and he recited: 'By the fig and the olive' in the first rak'ah of isha'. "
Hadith 1003
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عَوْنٍ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ سَمُرَةَ يَقُولُ : قال عُمَرُ ، لِسَعْدٍ : قَدْ شَكَاكَ النَّاسُ فِي كُلِّ شَيْءٍ حَتَّى فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَقَالَ سَعْدٌ : " أَتَّئِدُ فِي الْأُولَيَيْنِ وَأَحْذِفُ فِي الْأُخْرَيَيْنِ وَمَا آلُو مَا اقْتَدَيْتُ بِهِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " قَالَ : ذَاكَ الظَّنُّ بِكَ .
´Abu 'Awn said:` "I heard Jabir bin Samurah say: 'Umar said to Sa'eed': "The people are complaining about everything about you, even about your prayer." Sa'd said: "I take my time in the first two rak'ahs and I make the other two shorter. I do my best to follow the example of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) in prayer." 'Umar said: 'That is what I thought about you.'"
Hadith 1006
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا وَائِلٍ يَقُولُ : قال رَجُلٌ عِنْدَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ : " قَرَأْتُ الْمُفَصَّلَ فِي رَكْعَةٍ ، قَالَ : هَذًّا كَهَذِّ الشِّعْرِ لَقَدْ عَرَفْتُ النَّظَائِرَ الَّتِي كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرُنُ بَيْنَهُنَّ فَذَكَرَ عِشْرِينَ سُورَةً مِنَ الْمُفَصَّلِ سُورَتَيْنِ سُورَتَيْنِ فِي رَكْعَةٍ " .
´It was narrated that 'Amr bin Murrah said:` "I heard Abu Wa'il say: "A man said in the presence of Abdullah: 'I recited Al-Mufassal in one rak'ah.' He said: 'That is like reciting poetry. I know the similar surahs that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite together.' And he mentioned twenty surahs from Al-Mufassal, two by two in each rak'ah."
Hadith 1009
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ ، عَنِ الْمُسْتَوْرِدِ بْنِ الْأَحْنَفِ ، عَنْ صِلَةَ بْنِ زُفَرَ ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ " أَنَّهُ صَلَّى إِلَى جَنْبِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْلَةً فَقَرَأَ فَكَانَ إِذَا مَرَّ بِآيَةِ عَذَابٍ وَقَفَ وَتَعَوَّذَ وَإِذَا مَرَّ بِآيَةِ رَحْمَةٍ وَقَفَ فَدَعَا وَكَانَ يَقُولُ فِي رُكُوعِهِ سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْعَظِيمِ وَفِي سُجُودِهِ سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْأَعْلَى " .
´It was narrated from Hudhaifah that:` He prayed beside the Prophet (ﷺ) one night. He recited, and when he came to a verse that mentioned punishment, he would pause and seek refuge with Allah; if he came to a verse that mentioned mercy, he would pause for mercy. In his bowing he would say: 'Subhana Rabbil-Azim (Glory be to my Lord Almighty)' and in his prostration he would say: 'Subhan Rabbil-A'la (Glory be to my Lord the Most High).'"
Hadith 1017
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي طَلْحَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْسَجَةَ ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ قال : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " زَيِّنُوا الْقُرْآنَ بِأَصْوَاتِكُمْ " قَالَ ابْنُ عَوْسَجَةَ كُنْتُ نَسِيتُ هَذِهِ زَيِّنُوا الْقُرْآنَ حَتَّى ذَكَّرَنِيهِ الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ مُزَاحِمٍ .
´It was narrated that Al-Bara' bin Azib said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Make your voices beautiful when you recite Quran.'"
Hadith 1030
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ ، وَالْأَسْوَدِ ، أَنَّهُمَا كَانَا مَعَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ فِي بَيْتِهِ فَقَالَ : أَصَلَّى هَؤُلاءِ ؟ . قُلْنَا : نَعَمْ ، فَأَمَّهُمَا وَقَامَ بَيْنَهُمَا بِغَيْرِ أَذَانٍ وَلا إِقَامَةٍ قَالَ : " إِذَا كُنْتُمْ ثَلَاثَةً فَاصْنَعُوا هَكَذَا وَإِذَا كُنْتُمْ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ فَلْيَؤُمَّكُمْ أَحَدُكُمْ وَلْيَفْرِشْ كَفَّيْهِ عَلَى فَخْذَيْهِ فَكَأَنَّمَا أَنْظُرُ إِلَى اخْتِلَافِ أَصَابِعِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
´It was narrated from 'Alqamah and Al-Aswad that:` They were with 'Abdullah in his house and he said: "Have these people prayed?" We said: "Yes." So he led them in prayer and stood between them, with no Adhan and no Iqamah, and said: "If you are three then do this, and if you are more than that then let one of you lead the others in prayer, and let him lay his hands on his thighs. It is as if I can see the fingers of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), interlaced.'"
