Hadith 127
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) observed: Verily Allah forgave my people the evil promptings which arise within their hearts as long as they did not speak about them or did not act upon them.

Ma‘bad bin Hilal ‘Anazi said: We went to Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) and made Thabit (al-Banani) our intermediary (to obtain permission to meet him). When we arrived at his place, he was performing the Duha prayer. Thabit sought permission for us (to enter). We entered and presented ourselves before him. He seated Thabit with him on his bed. Thabit said to him: “O Abu Hamzah! Your brothers from among the people of Basra request you to narrate to them the hadith about intercession.” Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) told us: “When the Day of Resurrection comes, people will surge into each other like waves. They will come to Adam (peace be upon him) and say: ‘Intercede for your children (so that they may be saved from the hardships of the Gathering and the agonizing wait).’ He will say: ‘I am not for this. But you should go to Ibrahim (Abraham, peace be upon him), for he is the Khalil (close friend) of Allah.’ The people will go to Ibrahim (peace be upon him). He will reply: ‘I am not for this. But you should go to Musa (Moses, peace be upon him), for he is the one to whom Allah spoke directly.’ So they will go to Musa (peace be upon him). He will say: ‘I am not for this. But you should go to ‘Isa (Jesus, peace be upon him), for he is the Spirit of Allah and His Word.’ So they will go to ‘Isa (peace be upon him), and he will say: ‘I am not for this. But you should go to Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).’ So they will come to me, and I will say: ‘I am for this (task).’ I will proceed and seek permission to appear before my Lord, and I will be granted permission. I will stand before Him and praise Him with such words of praise as I am not capable of now; Allah will inspire me with those praises. Then I will fall in prostration before Him. Then it will be said to me: ‘O Muhammad! Raise your head and speak, you will be heard; ask, you will be given; intercede, your intercession will be accepted.’ I will say: ‘O my Lord! My Ummah! My Ummah!’ Then it will be said to me: ‘Go, and take out from the Fire whoever has faith in his heart equal to a grain of wheat or barley.’ I will go and do so. Then I will return to my Lord and praise Him with the same forms of praise, then fall in prostration before Him. Then it will be said to me: ‘O Muhammad! Raise your head and speak, you will be heard; ask, you will be given; intercede, your intercession will be accepted.’ I will say: ‘O my Lord! My Ummah! My Ummah!’ It will be said to me: ‘Go, and take out from the Fire whoever has faith in his heart equal to a mustard seed.’ So I will go and do so. Then I will return to my Lord and praise Him with similar praises, then fall in prostration before Him. Then it will be said to me: ‘O Muhammad! Raise your head, speak, you will be heard; ask, you will be given; intercede, your intercession will be accepted.’ I will say: ‘O my Lord! My Ummah! My Ummah!’ Then it will be said to me: ‘Go, and take out from the Fire whoever has less than a mustard seed, even less, even less faith in his heart.’ So I will go and do so.” This is the narration of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) which he related to us. (Ma‘bad bin Hilal ‘Anazi) said: So we left his place, and when we reached the upper part of the open plain, we said: (How good it would be) if we went to Hasan al-Basri and greeted him. He (out of fear of Hajjaj bin Yusuf) was hiding in the house of Abu Khalifah. When we reached him, we greeted him. We said: “O Abu Sa‘id! We are coming from your brother Abu Hamzah (the kunyah of Anas, may Allah be pleased with him). We have never heard a hadith like the one he narrated to us about intercession.” Hasan al-Basri said: “Bring it, narrate it.” We narrated the hadith to him, and he said: “Go on, narrate more.” We said: “He did not narrate more than this to us.” He (Hasan al-Basri) said: “He narrated this hadith to us twenty years ago, at that time he was in full strength. He has left out a part; I do not know whether the Shaykh forgot or he did not wish to narrate the whole hadith to you, lest you rely solely on what is mentioned in it.” We said: “Please narrate it to us.” So he laughed and said: «إِنَّ الْإِنسَانَ خُلِقَ هَلُوعًا» “Man was created hasty,” I only mentioned this to you for the reason that I wanted to narrate this hadith to you. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Then I will return to my Lord a fourth time, and praise Him with the same praises, then fall in prostration before Him. Then it will be said to me: ‘O Muhammad! Raise your head, speak, you will be heard; ask, you will be given; intercede, your intercession will be accepted.’ I will say: ‘O my Lord! Grant me permission regarding those who said ‘La ilaha illallah’ (There is no god but Allah).’ Allah will say: ‘This is not for you, but by My Honor, My Majesty, My Greatness, and My Supremacy! I will take out from the Fire those who said ‘La ilaha illallah’.’” Ma‘bad said: I bear witness regarding Hasan al-Basri that he told us that he heard this narration from Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him). I think he said: twenty years ago, and at that time his faculties were complete.

Husain bin 'Abdul Rahman reported: I was with Sa'id bin Jubair when he said: Who amongst you saw a star shooting last night? I said: It was I; then I said: I was in fact not (busy) in prayer, but was stung by a scorpion (and that is the reason why I was awake and had a glimpse of the shooting star). He said: Then what did you do? I said: I practised charm. He said: What urged you to do this? I said: (I did this according to the implied suggestion) of the hadith which al-Shu'bah narrated. He said: What did al-Shu'bah narrate to you? I said: Buraida bin Husaib al-Aslami narrated to us. The charm is of no avail except in case of the (evil influence) of an eye or the sting of a scorpion. He said: He who acted according to what he had heard (from the Holy Prophet) acted rightly, but Ibn 'Abbas narrated to us from the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) that he said: There were brought before me the peoples and I saw an apostle and a small group (of his followers) along with him, another (apostle) and one or two persons (along with him) and (still another) apostle having no one with him. When a very large group was brought to me I conceived as if it were my Ummah. Then it was said to me: It is Moses (ؑ) and his people. You should look at the horizon, and I saw a very huge group. It was again said to me: See the other side of the horizon, and there was (also) a very huge group. It was said to me: This is your Ummah, and amongst them there were seventy thousand persons who would be made to enter Paradise without rendering any account and without (suffering) any torment. He then stood up and went to his house. Then the people began to talk about the people who would be admitted to Paradise without rendering any account and without (suffering) any torment. Some of them said: They may be those who (have had the good fortune of living) in the company of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and some of them said: They be those who were born in Islam and did not associate anything with Allah. Some people mentioned other things. Thereupon came forth the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) before them and he said: What was that which you were talking about? They informed him. He said: They are those persons who neither practise charm, nor ask others to practise it, nor do they take omens, and repose their trust in their Lord. Upon this 'Ukkasha bin Mihsan stood up and said: Supplicate for me that He should make me one among them. Upon this he (Messenger of Allah) said: Thou are one among them. Then another man stood up and said: Supplicate before Allah that He should make me one among them. Upon this he said: 'Ukkisha has preceded you.
Hadith 224
Mus'ab bin Sa'd reported: 'Abdullah son of Umar came to Ibn'Amir in order to inquire after his health as he was ailing. He said Ibn 'Umar, why don't you pray to Allah for me? He said: I heard of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) say: Neither the prayer is accepted without purification nor is charity accepted out of the ill-gotten (wealth), and thou wert the (governor) of Basrah.
Hadith 237
It has been transmitted by Abu Hurairah (RA) and Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (both of them the reputed Companions of the Holy Prophet) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said like that.
Hadith 390
Salim narrated it on the authority of his father who reported: I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) raising his hands apposite the shoulders at the time of beginning the prayer and before bowing down and after coming back to the position after bowing. but he did not raise them between two prostrations.
Hadith 398
lmrin bin Husain reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) led us in Zuhr or 'Asr prayer (noon or the afternoon prayer). (On concluding it) he said: Who recited behind me (the verses): Sabbih Isma Rabbik al-a'la (Glorify the name of thy Lord, the Most High)? There upon a person said: It was I, but I intended nothing but goodness. I felt that some one of you was disputing with me in it (or he was taking out from my tongue what I was reciting), said the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) .

Hattan bin 'Abdullah al-Raqiishi reported: I observed prayer with Abu Musu al-Ash'ari and when he was in the qa'dah, one among the people said: The prayer has been made obligatory along with piety and Zakat. He (the narrator) said: When Abu Musa had finished the prayer after salutation he turned (towards the people) and said: Who amongst you said such and such a thing? A hush fell on the people. He again said.. Who amongst you has said such and such a thing? A hush fell on the people. He (Abu Musa) said: Hattan, it is perhaps you that have uttered it. He (Hattan) said No. I have not uttered it. I was afraid that you might be annoyed with me on account of this. A person amongst the people said: It was I who said it, and in this I intended nothing but good. Abu Musa said: Don't you know what you have to recite in your prayers? Verily the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) addressed us and explained to us all its aspects and taught us how to observe prayer (properly). He (the Holy Prophet) said: When you pray make your rows straight and let anyone amongst you act as your Imam. Recite the takbir when he recites it and when he recites: Not of those with whom Thou art angry nor of those who go astray, say: Amin. Allah would respond you. And when he (the Imam) recites the takbir, you may also recite the takbir, for the Imam bows before you and raises himself before you. Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: The one is equivalent to the other. And when he says: Allah listens to him who praises Him, you should say: O Allah, our. Lord, to Thee be the praise, for Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, has vouchsafed (us) through the tongue of His Apostle (ﷺ) that Allah listens to him who praises Him. And when he (the Imam) recites the takbir and prostrates, you should also recite the takbir and prostrate, for the Imam prostrates before you and raises himself before you. The Messenger' of Allah (ﷺ) said: The one is equivalent to the other. And when he (the Imam) sits for Qa'da (for tashahhud) the first words of every one amongst you should be: All services rendered by words, acts of worship and all good things are due to Allah. Peace be upon you,O Apostle, and Allah's mercy and blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the upright servants of Allah. I testify that there is no god but Allah, and I testify that Mubammad is His servant and His Messenger.
Hadith 479
Ibn 'Abbas reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) drew aside the curtain (of his apartment) and (he saw) people in rows (saying prayer) behind Abu Bakr. And he said: Nothing remains of the glad tidings of apostlehood, except good visions which a Muslim sees or someone is made to see for him. And see that I have been forbidden to recite the Qur'an in the state of bowing and prostration. So far as Ruk'u is concerned, extol in it the Great and Glorious Lord, and while prostrating yourselves be earnest in supplication, for it is fitting that your supplications should be answered.

Rubbing of tar (upon my body) is dearer to me than doing it (the applying of perfume)." 'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported: I asked Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) about the wall, circumpassing the House (i. e. whether the wall on the side of Hijr was included in the Ka’bah). He said, Yes. I said: Then why did they not include it in the House? He said: Your people ran short of the means (to do so). I said: Why is it that the level of its door is raised high? He said: Your people did it so that they should admit one whom they liked, and forbid him whom they disliked, and if your people were not new converts to faith, and I did not apprehend that their hearts would feel agitated at this, I would have definitely included (the area of) this wall-in the House and would have brought the door to the level of the ground.

They (the Companions around him) disputed, and it is not right to dispute in the presence of the Apostle. They said: How is he (Allah's Apostle) (ﷺ) ? Has he lost his consciousness? Try to learn from him (this point). He (the Holy Prophet) said: Leave me. I am better in the state (than the one in which you are engaged). I make a will about three things: Turn out the polytheists from the territory of Arabia; show hospitality to the (foreign) delegations as I used to show them hospitality.
