Hadith 173
وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ مِغْوَلٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، وزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ جَمِيعًا ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ ، وَأَلْفَاظُهُمْ مُتَقَارِبَةٌ ، قَال ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ مِغْوَلٍ ، عَنْ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " لَمَّا أُسْرِيَ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، انْتُهِيَ بِهِ إِلَى سِدْرَةِ الْمُنْتَهَى ، وَهِيَ فِي السَّمَاءِ السَّادِسَةِ إِلَيْهَا ، يَنْتَهِي مَا يُعْرَجُ بِهِ مِنَ الأَرْضِ ، فَيُقْبَضُ مِنْهَا وَإِلَيْهَا يَنْتَهِي مَا يُهْبَطُ بِهِ مِنْ فَوْقِهَا ، فَيُقْبَضُ مِنْهَا ، قَالَ : إِذْ يَغْشَى السِّدْرَةَ مَا يَغْشَى سورة النجم آية 16 ، قَالَ فَرَاشٌ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ ؟ قَالَ : فَأُعْطِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثَلَاثًا ، أُعْطِيَ الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسَ ، وَأُعْطِيَ خَوَاتِيمَ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ ، وَغُفِرَ لِمَنْ لَمْ يُشْرِكْ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ أُمَّتِهِ شَيْئًا الْمُقْحِمَاتُ " .
It is narrated on the authority of 'Abdullah (b. Umar) that when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was taken for the Night journey, he was taken to Sidrat-ul-Muntaha, which is situated on the sixth heaven, where terminates everything that ascends from the earth and is held there, and where terminates every- thing that descends from above it and is held there. (It is with reference to this that) Allah said:" When that which covers covered the lote-tree" (al-Qur'an, Iiii. 16). He (the narrator) said: (It was) gold moths. He (the narrator further) said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was given three (things): he was given five prayers, be was given the concluding verses of Sura al-Baqarah, and remission of serious Sins for those among his Ummah who associate not anything with Allah
Hadith 535
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيل بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ ، عَنْ مُصْعَبِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، قَالَ : " رَكَعْتُ ، فَقُلْتُ : بِيَدَيَّ هَكَذَا ، يَعْنِي طَبَّقَ بِهِمَا ، وَوَضَعَهُمَا بَيْنَ فَخِذَيْهِ ، فَقَالَ أَبِي : قَدْ كُنَّا نَفْعَلُ هَذَا ، ثُمّ أُمِرْنَا بِالرُّكَبِ " .
Mus'ab bin Sa'd reported: I said prayer by the side of my father and placed my hands between my knees. My father said to me: Place your hands on your knees. I repeated that (the previous act) for the second time, and he struck at my hands and said: We have been forbidden to do so and have been commanded to place our palms on the knees.
Hadith 535
حَدَّثَنِي الْحَكَمُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ ، عَنِ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ ، عَنِ مُصْعَبِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ ، قَالَ : صَلَّيْتُ إِلَى جَنْبِ أَبِي ، فَلَمَّا رَكَعْتُ ، شَبَّكْتُ أَصَابِعِي وَجَعَلْتُهُمَا بَيْنَ رُكْبَتَيَّ ، فَضَرَبَ يَدَيَّ ، فَلَمَّا صَلَّى ، قَالَ : قَدْ كُنَّا نَفْعَلُ هَذَا ، ثُمَّ أُمِرْنَا أَنْ نَرْفَعَ إِلَى الرُّكَبِ .
Mus'ab bin Sa'd bin Abu Waqqas reported: I said prayer by the side of my father. When I bowed I intertwined my fingers and placed them between my knees. He struck my hands. When he completed the prayer he said: We used to do that but then were commanded to lift (our palms) to the knees.
Hadith 2348
حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو غَسَّانَ الرَّازِيُّ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، حَدَّثَنَا حَكَّامُ بْنُ سَلْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ زَائِدَةَ ، عَنْ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " قُبِضَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَهُوَ ابْنُ ثَلَاثٍ وَسِتِّينَ " ، وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ ثَلَاثٍ وَسِتِّينَ ، وَعُمَرُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ ثَلَاثٍ وَسِتِّينَ " .
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) died when he was sixty-three years old, and so was the case with Abu Bakr, and so was the case with Umar who was also sixty-three (when he died).
