Muwatta Malik (Yahya) 885 — Deeds in Slaughtering
حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ مَالِك، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَحَرَ بَعْضَ هَدْيِهِ، وَنَحَرَ غَيْرُهُ بَعْضَهُ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) slaughtered some of his sacrificial animals with his own hand, and some were slaughtered by others.
