حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مَالِك ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " رَمَلَ مِنْ الْحَجَرِ الْأَسْوَدِ حَتَّى انْتَهَى إِلَيْهِ ثَلَاثَةَ أَطْوَافٍ " .
قَالَ مَالِك : وَذَلِكَ الْأَمْرُ الَّذِي لَمْ يَزَلْ عَلَيْهِ أَهْلُ الْعِلْمِ بِبَلَدِنَا

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah, may Allah be pleased with him, that he said: I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, perform ramal from the Black Stone to the Black Stone in three circuits.
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said: The scholars of our city act upon this.
