Muwatta Malik (Yahya) 745 — on Stopping Talbiyah (Chant) During Hajj
وَحَدَّثَنِي ، عَنْ وَحَدَّثَنِي ، عَنْ مَالِك ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ " كَانَ يُلَبِّي فِي الْحَجِّ حَتَّى إِذَا زَاغَتِ الشَّمْسُ مِنْ يَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ قَطَعَ التَّلْبِيَةَ " .
قَالَ مَالِك : وَذَلِكَ الْأَمْرُ الَّذِي لَمْ يَزَلْ عَلَيْهِ أَهْلُ الْعِلْمِ بِبَلَدِنَا

It is narrated from Muhammad Baqir that Sayyiduna Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, used to say the Talbiyah during Hajj, but when the sun declined on the day of Arafah, he would stop saying the Talbiyah.
