Muwatta Malik (Yahya) 449 — on actions in the prayer for rain
حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مَالِك ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، كَانَ إِذَا اسْتَسْقَى قَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ اسْقِ عِبَادَكَ وَبَهِيمَتَكَ ، وَانْشُرْ رَحْمَتَكَ وَأَحْيِ بَلَدَكَ الْمَيِّتَ "
It is narrated from Hazrat Amr bin Shu'aib that when the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, prayed for rain, he would say: "O Allah! Give water to Your servants and animals, and spread Your mercy, and revive Your dead land."
