حدثنا أبو علي الحسين وأبو محمد عبد الله سعد الحافظ، قالا: بن حدثنا أبو بكر محمد بن إسحاق بن خُزَيمة، حدثنا علي بن سلمة حفظًا، حدثنا زيد ابن الحُبَاب، حدثنا سفيان، عن أبي إسحاق، عن أبي الأحوَص، عن عبد الله قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "عليكم بالشِّفائينِ: العسلِ والقرآنِ" (3). هذا إسناد صحيح على شرط الشيخين ولم يُخرجاه. وقد أوقفه وَكيعُ بن الجرَّاح عن سفيان:

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Hold fast to the two sources of healing: honey and the Qur'an."
This chain is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it; while Waki' bin al-Jarrah narrated it from Sufyan as mawquf (that is, as the saying of Ibn Mas'ud).

(3) صحيح موقوفًا، زيد بن الحباب صدوق لا بأس به، لكن له أوهام عن الثّوري، قال ابن معين: كان يقلب حديث الثوري، وقال ابن عدي: ينفرد برفع أحاديث عن الثوري. وقد خالفه من هو أوثق منه فوقفه، كما في الرواية التالية عند المصنف، وهو الصواب كما قال البيهقي في "سننه" 9/ 345. سفيان: هو الثَّوري، وأبو إسحاق: هو عمرو بن عبد الله السَّبيعي، وأبو الأحوص: هو عوف بن مالك الأشجعي.
Grading: This hadith is sahih as mawquf. Zayd bin al-Hubab is saduq (truthful), there is no harm in him, but he makes errors in narrating from al-Thawri. Yahya bin Ma'in said: "He used to jumble the hadith of al-Thawri." Ibn Adi said: "He is alone in narrating hadiths from al-Thawri as marfu'." Narrators more trustworthy than him contradicted him and narrated it as mawquf (as in the next narration), and that is correct, as al-Bayhaqi said in "al-Sunan" (9/ 345).
Identification of the narrators: Sufyan refers to al-Thawri, Abu Ishaq refers to Amr bin Abd Allah al-Sabi'i, and Abu al-Ahwas refers to Awf bin Malik al-Ashja'i.
وأخرجه ابن ماجه (3452) عن علي بن سلمة، عن زيد بن الحباب، بهذا الإسناد.
